Hi all. I just built a new system and I'd REALLY apreciate some help. the specs are:
Biostar 790GX A2+ mobo
AMD Phenom 2 940 BE (stock clocks)
3 GB of no name garbage DDR2 RAM I salvaged from my old HP box. This RAM passed a bios memtest that I just ran. Yes, it's dual channel.
512, 512, 1, 1, = 3GB
4870x2
Now, I DID the bios update Biostar says to do to run the Phenom 2. However, my problem is I am getting blue screen crashes in the Vista installation process.
My GPU is in the "slave" PCI-E port, but I really don't think that matters. As it is, when I use the integrated graphics, it sends no signal to my monitor UNLESS its on the windows bootscreen. BIOS slash images are not visible unless I am using a graphics card.
Any advice? Should I pull out the Phenom and put in my old Athlon X2?
