PC LCD monitor with X360?

Yeah I know but you wouldn't want a native 1280x720 22"+ monitor...

1680x1050 is the ideal balance for a 22"+ LCD....PCs, X360s and HDTV programs will all look good on said monitor.

For a PC 1680x1050 is fine. For HDTV you'll want a native 1080p TV and for 360 and PS3 a native 720p monitor will provide the best picture quality (Except for the very few games that support 1080p native)

For LCDs that are 22-24" you won't benefit from watching HDTV programs on a 1080p display over a 1680x1050 one. People who use 22-24" LCDs sit at a distance that shows little difference between 1680x1050 vs 1920x1080 even when watching HDTV programs. My friend has a 24" 1920x1080 LCD and the HDTV programming doesn't look any better on his LCD than on my 22" 1680x1050 LCD. If you can see a difference then you're sitting too close to the LCD...

I could never understand this.

They say they added 16X10 over VGA or HDMI, and support for 1440x900 or 1680x1050.

I connect my Xbox through HDMI to my lcd which has 1680x1050 native resolution, and I can only access 480p/720p/1080i/1080p.

No 16x10 available through HDMI.
What could be the reason for this behaviour?

I imagine It'll be your monitor telling the 360 it only supports those resolutions.

whoops. looks like an older thread someone resurrected.
