OY!

it is so easy to be wise afterwards. Especially when you are sitting nicely on warm chair in your own home far away from everything that BB was dealing with.
But at least they tried... ...three times.

I don't know about others, but to me from comments here and the other boards, it is very easy to see, who has been working at company that has been same kind of situation like BB were. I will not start talking about how much "back up" plans cost, how much these back up plans take a already small resources off from the "major plan" and how well you can penetrate the market if you have only Medium end product. (afaik there is no company that has succeded on that.)

and oh yes... they did hype. a 3-5 years ago. After that they haven't give any official words about their projects before this. They did have a 2 seminars on 21st century, but first one talked about future graphics in general and about their best bets for future. 2nd one they had a launch of real product but that wasn't good either.

now I indeed believe that human doesn't have short memory. oh, no... it's just damn selective. Maybe I just go to flaming line too. Oh yes, there would be a lots of not so nice things from the past that I would like to bring to boards. both nVidia and ATI would definately get their part of this sh*tload. and I don't think that companies like S3, Matrox, Cirrus Logic, 3DLabs, 3dfx, Hercules, Alliance semiconductor and Diamond would be clean either after I had started to real rant of all cards I have used during my computing history. (so, call me a matrox fan boy, but how many of you have owned more different manufacturer cards than I?)

BoddoZerg: and they did demoed their real card 1997, but it is because it's way to positive thing about BB, most ppl think it was faked somehow (though it was only card capable doing EMBM back then and tech demo used so much EMBM that it couldn't be software simulator.) Bashing BB is mostly based on facts like "my friend said that they are assholes and he even knows how windows is set up to new comp!". As I have said before, there is real reasons for bashing, but usually facts behind basher ideas are "Hey there are Bitboys! they can bashed without answering to question 'Why' "

I surely hope that their customer is Nokia. their phones never has someones' tech, those are just Nokia phones. That's the only way they can get these bashers to buy their products.

Good reading :)
I wish them the best. Their designs have some touch of adventurous/passion, IMHO something missing in the current 3D industry.

So this article officially means The Young 'Un can spill the beans w/o any worry? C'mon Dave... there must be so much more to tell!

:)

oh there really is... but I am not going to be the one who spits the beans. IMO The world isn't ready yet to heard the full truth.

Aye Rev, did Dave have permission to reveal as much as he had? Or didnt he need permission anymore?

as far as I know, Dave still respects company more than anyone else here. He surely knows his limits.

btw, Bitboys webpages had a article about thier own HSR implementation, but it was removed and replaced with an document talking about MatrixAA. Maybe someone catched it from browser cache (I know few persons that at least got it partially saved.) but otherwise I think it will take quite long before wee see it again, if ever.

Please explain!
Any information would be welcome. As the article says the last chip had "only" 3MB eDRAM. So the HSR-algorithm sould have been be advanced (maybe they sold it to Nvidia :) )

No problem. I hope I don't get in any trouble for posting this 8)

Found this on the redesigned BB-site. They took it down shortly afterwards though.

I could also tell what they claimed to be their max efective overdraw reduce in percentages...(*thinking*) ...but propably that would not be a good idea as Bitboys is already too famous about their claims.

hmmh.. this became rather dumb post... oh well, you can't success every time. :p

is this the new handheld with the bitboys chip inside?

From Digit-Life :

n_n_gage.jpg

According to Nokia, N-Gage is called to compete with Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft portable consoles. The phone will be presented to the market in February 2003.

Nokia and Bitboys are both north-european so it could very well be true.
