Opengl F-Buffer

Is there even ONE SINGLE title or demo that uses this ATi "feature"? I know this feature was a complete flop, is this because developers were uninterested? Or because it was unnecessary with todays apps? Or both?

They never released the extension for it (yet). I heard it's done though or at least in beta form and may even be released in the next 6month even if it's just for the sake of it
