NVidia's D: V, M and E

Those in a completely different ballpark as far as performance goes (a way lower one). Not even comparable, let alone the whole ASIO thingy and so on.

Davros: numbers mean nothing, but the X-Fi is way better than Audigy (or any other card out there as of now) in every regard.

Btw, I use integrated audio right now and have no Creative card, but it is a nice piece of HW regardless

Except for the drivers, which is always the problem with Creative cards.

the only problem ive had with creative drivers was the crappy toolbar they used install - how did this turn into a soundcard thead anyway :D

Uhm, unlike which other vendor? Had you ever tried say Terratec drivers, you'd send flowers and candys to Crative's dev team on a daily basis

You can't justify Creative's crap software because other vendors have crap software as well. Crap is crap.

You can't pick one single manufacturer for being crap if every other is just as crap or in most cases even much worse. That's kinda a reality distortion field right there :D

They're not though. Just because you can find a handful of issues for a particular vendor's sound products doesn't mean all their software is crap, which is proven in Creative's case because every generation of products they've ever released and the accompanying software had more issues at launch than any other vendor, and more ongoing issues than can be reasonably expected. I'm not going to sit here and cite every Creative software issue to you, it's not necessary as it's common knowledge.

Anyway, this is way OT so I'm done with this discussion.
