No more NPD numbers (group hug coming up!)

i think Uncharted will be outsold by multiplatform titles like CoD4 and AC again. it seems like Uncharted isn't selling as well as it should and i don't understand why PS3 owners aren't picking this up.

Mass Effect has been pulling fairly poor numbers in Europe apparently, which is a shame. There's been a fair bit of negative word-of-mouth for the game, which is also a shame. Not sure how these sales compare to KOTOR though.

Uncharted sales should be very interesting this month. Sales threads are oh-so-fun. ;)

I wish I could say that I have not been affected by the bad word of mouth that ME has received but unfortunately it has. On the other hand I have Bioschock (I can understand if it gets numerous GOTY awards, it is amazing) to finish and Naruto: ROAN (very good as well, very positively surprized) as well and maybe by the time I get ME (which I will) they might have released the patch that fixes the game as promised by some reviewer;).

Sales threads rule:devilish:...

I don't think it matters if Uncharted gets outsold by CoD4 and AC, they are after all multiplatform games and actually quite good games as well, compared to Uncharted which might be an outstanding game but released for a console with more limited userbase. What counts is that it has strong sales by itself...

Ofcourse they are, the only people thinking otherwise are demented Playstation 2 fanboys (they often claim RPGs and stuff as being mainstream, wheras everything involving a gun is hardcore) who somehow fail to see that over 30% of all the million sellers in the playstation 2 library are shooters.

So either 30% of all the gamers out there are hardcore or shooters are just as mainstream as anything else there is

This is the games industry...

The Mainstream ARE the Hardcore..

You have some numbers for Europe aside from the UK ones (which while not spectacular I wouldn't call them poor)?

PalGN (Australian) listed ME in the top ten in the launch week only - even then it wasn't too high... off the top of my head it was 4 or 5. It hasn't been in the top ten since. Given games like Lego Star Wars and CoD4 have been in there since launch, I think it's safe to say the numbers are disappointing for such a great game. Depending on your definition, of course.

Are your KOTOR numbers Xbox only or PC+Xbox combined?

Mass Effect was very slow on Amazon when it first launched (ranked around 50-60). Then, it has picked up, now it is ranked around 15. RPGs usually do not sell very well on consoles, but ME seems to be doing good so far.

The KOTOR estimate I gave was for Xbox in the US only.

I've taken note of this as well. Word of mouth has done its job for this it seems. I love it and think it is going to end up as my GOTY.
