If they are supporting 60fps live stream of gameplay via SharePlay, then that means that game DVR, Twitch and RemotePlay will also get 60fps support for sure.

edit - few undocumented features were found [Sony always have few of sweet ones hiding] in beta 2.50 firmware. Trophies now sync in the background, full game installations can be backed up to external drive.

As for old stuff, little clarity. Trophy listings now have ability to search Google for trophy guide data via PS4 browser, and Standby/Restore will not restart Netflix app [after restore you can continue watching from point you left off].

hopefully the button assignment also finally fixed the weird X/O reversal that happen across games and system menus and apps

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's different in different places. In Japan X means no/cancel, O means yes/accept and in the US and UK for example it's the other way around.

Currently known 2.50 features:
  • The system can now enter rest mode without closing any applications. You can adjust this setting in [Power Save Settings] > [Set Functions Available in Rest Mode].
Is this the resume mode??
edit: It seems yes :D

When will this FW be public??

What's the power consumption of PS4 console in rest mode currently?
It depends, the usual numbers I have seen on the net are:

3.5W if USB charging off
< 9W if USB charging on (8.5W or 8.8W depending of source)
70W if dowloading or updating something probably with USB on because at launch USB charging on was mandatory, so probably 65W with USB off.

When downloading in Rest mode, console boots in just a few seconds [from full rest mode, its about a mionute]. I wonder about the power results when application is suspended.

Yeah I just checked using my belkin meter. I got 8.3~8.4w in standby with USB charge enabled. Sitting idle at the main menu, I measured 77~79w. I measured my PS4 around launch but I can't seem to find that post... wondering if anything has changed. That seems to be a bit lower than what I remembered.

edit: [URL='https://forum.beyond3d.com/threads/new-ps4-smell.55121/page-11#post-1770658']Found it.[/URL] My measurements now vs launch are indeed lower (~78w vs ~85w; ~8.4w vs ~10.5w).

Hmm, DF's idle measurement was lower than mine (85W vs 80W) but our other measurements are more or less the same.
I used the same meter that I did before, so apples to apples, my measurement is lower now than it was before.

I'm hoping you can actually install to external hdd. At least this would make it easier to empty your main hdd and not worried about having to re download through the net again.

That is for BACKUP, not Playing from external HDD.
Yes, I'm pretty sure this is intended only for migration when moving one internal HDD to another internal HDD. A more elegant solution would be allowing you to attach your new internal drive via a USB caddy and having the system copy everything across so that when you swap drives, you can start immediately.

But it's better than nothing. I have almost 200Gb of downloaded games. At 7Gb an hour that's more than a full day of downloading :runaway:

That's the plus. Swapping games to make room for new ones now doesn't need an epic download, which solves the major issue of limited internal HDD space.

So... What is it?
Can I just back up TLOU when I'm finished with it, knowing that if I ever want to jump in again I can just reinstall it from the external HDD?
