...Blames?

"Praises", maybe?
It was an *irony* but in my mother's tongue -Galician, which is super special 'cos not many people speak it- we blame people for everything, and it can have positive connotations --as if you were praising someone for that. So Cerny is to *blame*, like having him accepting a responsibility. :p So that explains why I used blame -if it doesn't sound correct I'd be more than happy to edit the post-. Just thought I'd mention it.

Irony is hard to convey over the internet... Also, "blame" definitely have a negative connotation in english, but since we now know precisely what you meant I think the matter's been settled. :)

Considering it doesn't take much time to edit it and that it can sound odd for most people... Rather, I edit it to avoid further confusion.

An Oddworld developer has said that the PS4 has the smartest development environment ever, and he praises Mark Cerny for it.

Interesting. My dev mate has a coder mate who's taken the PS4 devkit off his hands to work on a title, and he says it's been a pig to get up and running. Documentation was poor and incomplete, thing didn't start up without faff and jiggery-pokery - the usual development woes.

Ok, so marginally less faff and jiggery-pokery needed then, we can assume...? "Smartest ever" is a relative expression, after all. ;)

They were paid for 20 years to live in a Sony Studio facility without any contact with the exterior world. It was a Sony experiment to create super-human play-testers.
By now, all of them should be able to finish Dark Souls and Demon Souls without even looking at the screen.

I'm assuming they're spending all their money on games that's why they are living in the same room since '95 :D
If you knew what UK housing prices were like, let along central London, you'd appreciate why a 30+ year old is living in the same bedroom of his youth... (I saw a web ad recently for a new development of one and two bedroom apartments priced from only £200,000. And studio apartments in the local town are £150,000).

Yeah, that kinda breaks the original idea of the commercial, which is otherwise quite neat. Maybe if shifting to the window would have changed location as well, as nobody in their right mind still lives with their greying parents when they're 35+...

They probably omitted the car crash and how they received the flat as per their parents' legal will when they were 19. Sad story.

This. A friend of mine is working in London, 3D artist, high profile movie. He isn't doing it for the money since that goes to paying for rent :)

Of course the commercial isn't realistic, the PS4 isn't even on sale yet, and people complain about old guys stil living at home. I like the small subtle details, the 4:3, the slims (I guess he wears his machines out?)

I am sure there is more that I am missing, another great commercial that can be seen several times.

Why are you guys taking the commercial 100% literally is beyond me.
The commercial wants to communicate time and evolution. Thats why you see the 1995 London changing gradually into the London of 2013 instead of London, Manchester and Lancaster or Alaska or something.
The people and the room is the same because they represent you and your friends growing together. You are still "Bob" who was also "Bob" in 1995. You arent Bob, then Michael, then John.

Unlikely, as the ageing process was arrested from 1995. PS4 would have to be able to reverse the ageing process and rejuvenate everyone 20 years.
