New images from BLACK!

No, I just want straight screen captures of the game. I'm looking at this on the same display I will be playing the game on and I know damn well it won't look anywhere near as anti-alaised or filtered as that. Maybe if I hooked my PC up to the old 13" tube I have sitting in my closet it would look about 95% like what it will look like on a PS2 if I sit about 6' away; but I'd like to see real screenshots and videos of the game so I know what it will look like when I am actually playing it instead of looking at jazzed up marketing crap.

Have you seen many games that play better on ps2 ? Especially a fps?

Why are you asking me? I didn't say anything about gameplay, I was talking about the jazzed up screenshots. The gameplay looks great and I'm quite looking forward to playing it, I just wish they were releasing a 360 version so it could at least look something like it does in those screenshots. A 360 version of MG3:S would own as well.

Kyleb he wants you to watch the videos man. Look at the video and you will see that these screenshots aren't as jazzed up as you make them.

I watched the videos weeks ago, and no sane person could make make any judgements on the anti-alaising or texture filtering in the game from a source like that. The AA and AF was all I commented on in reguard to the screenshots, so what exactly do you expect me to get from those compressed 320x180 videos?

Well nothing much. Just that the added AA and AF doesn't jurassicly change the look of the game. Some people on forums today make it sound like the added AA is the only reason the game looks great. I guess I lumped you into those batch of people.

My bad.

to alot of people AF and AA make more then a 5% difference, especially if you play games on the PC, it's the same reason alot of people pick the xbox version of games over the ps2 if they own both systems just for a cleaner image

Normally I ignore spelling things, but this one really stands out. Are you using 'jurassicly' as a new slang term I haven't heard before, or did you really mean 'drastically'?

Regards AA, for me AA makes a huge difference in perceived quality. If everything in those Black screens appeared as the AA'd promo shots, it'd look a lot more 'next-gen' than the normal non-AA effort. Even if poly counts and texture res' etc. are exactly the same, I would say AA to that degree adds a perceptual order-of-magnitude to quality, and I do find the quality drop in real games bothersome. I too would like to see real in-game shots, but they'd have to be forced across the board. No one dev/publisher is going to show their wares in the naked true-form when their rivals are showing tarted-up faked grabs that look so much better in the stills.

OMG I can't believe I said "jurassicly".

Well I respect your opinion and everybody else for that matter. I remember people saying to me, "those God of War pics have 8x AA in them. The game will look nothing like that". Then when I got the game it looked basically the same. So....

What do you guys want? Do you really want EA to release straight screen captures of the game that look worst than actually playing it?

If they release a direct screen capture, how will that look worse than someone playing it? You're not making any sense.

I've seen screen captures of games that I've played on my own damn TV. And the screen captures looked worst. I know what I saw. Many people here know what I'm talking about.

Depends on what shots you are talking about, it sure as hell doesn't look anything like this:

And yeah, Black looks great as far as I am conserned. The lighting and particle effects are bar-none some of the best stuff I have ever seen for the PS2 and I'm sure all that will be intact in the final game. But like Pegisys said, the AA and AF shown in the screenshots are something that some of us are quite familar with in the world of PC gaming and know damn well that nothing even close to that is going to happen on a PS2.

Oh but I'm not saying it is. I'm saying for me the differences isn't night and day. It's not like I'm going to pop the game inside my PS2 and say, "what the hell is this!?!?11".

No, no you don't know what you're talking about. Bad captures and good screen captures are what you're talking about. But the issue here is doctored screen shots. I'd rather have a good accurate direct screen capture than this doctored mess that looks nothing like it will appear on a decent size TV. Not only are those pics doctored with insane levels of AA and AF, but they also are 800x600 resolution. Unless you have a 13 inch low quality tv, the game won't look as good as that. Team Ninja has been guilty of this in the past aswell, I don't approve of anyone doing this.

If a company can release perfect screen captures, then yeah I'm with you. But most of the screen captures that I've seen are worst than what I eventually play on my TV. Maybe my TV is better than yours.:p

Nah, you will surely be in aww of the amazing graphics they managed to sqeeze out of that 5 year old console; but it certianly won't like the mircle from on high like those screenshots could lead one to belive.
