wow.... the catalyst drivers have been released... i'm going to play around with them in a few mins but looks good to me... check out hardocp for a review...

hmm

okay well mabye in 1 hours and 18mins ... man ati's servers are slow... cable modem should be downloading this slow its just not right

well

for anyone that wants these drivers im me at holden9681 and i will send you the xp ones , i got um from my cousin. I was downloading at .5kbs it was very sad

Err did you do that reveiw? http://hardocp.com/article.html?art=MzEyLDE=
If so nice job really. The Radeon 8500 outperforms nvidias GF4Ti4200 in some of these test... really impressive considering that the Radeon 8500 was only meant to compete directly with the GF3. I am surprised at how little discussion there is about the Catalyst drivers really.

I did that review

I was highly impressed with the 8500 myself

as i said in the review at luanch the gf3 ti 500 was beating it, but now it has killed the gf3 and competes with the gf4 ti 4200, impressive hardware ati has, it's good they finally got the drivers to utilize it

These new catalyst drivers are prety good, D3D has been optimized in this version. In the second release they will have OGL Optimized as well.

well

i didn't write the review... mostly crap on that site but sometimes there's good stuff. I can't seem to get the drivers to install correctly. I keep getting windowsxp crashes and 3dmark says i don't have a video card :(

unbeliable...

Working drivers for AIW Radeon! at last! Not even NFS4 has that annoying every 5 second full stop.

:D

EDIT: plus I gained over 45 3DMarks more than ever before.

okay

drivers now work .

Sabastian asked if i wrote the article after my first three posts. I was in the middle of responding when my ex came by .

Morrowind frames doubled in out door area's on my radeon 8500 64 meg card....

YTes but Aniso filtering is broken in D3D... :(

Of course you can manually install the leaked 6093 and still have the Catalyst control panels with Aniso working.

Nice review Brent. Suppose we will finally stop hearing the echo from nvidia fan boys with regards to how poor ATi driver support is?(not likely) Radeon 8500 owners must be very pleased with ATi at this point.

I am not sure anymore... ;) Still, it took 1.5 years to get them to this level so it can't be said very good thing....

well, we will see...
In any case, there's no horry with buying a new one when AIW working so well right now. (everything is running so fine right now.) Maybe I'll wait for until Assembly. (while there's great possibility that Assembly will make me wait for even further. ;) )
