Mirror's Edge Catalyst

Just preordered the collector's edition on Amazon. Hopefully the guys responsible for the statue can get their act together this time (same production company that was supposed to make the Arkham Knight collectibles)

This looks beautiful, looks like it has a lot more action than the original which i don't know how to feel about though.

Temporal solution for shadows/ao (looks like ao)?

And while the buildings look a bit flat i think the overall look of the game is great. These two shots look the best to me:

Yeah, we jumped first on bashing the flat ambient lighting, before giving the due credit to the spetacular faces in there. Very belvable rendering all around.

I don't know why they are bothering with this AAA story thing. Just do it like Portal and keep the budget in-check

Completely with you on that one. The Portal / Dark Souls way is terrific for telling stories in videogames, and it probably doesn't break the bank either. Instead we get these wannabe Hollywood blockbuster cinematics which are usually cringe-worthy whilst skyrocketing budgets.

In the first game cutscenes is where they skimped by using flash animations. I think they're overcompensating with this one.

It was a corny art move...they could have use in engine renders...although they might be over compensating this time it's probably because of Frostbite engine...after Star Wars Battlefront the visuals reached film or near film image quality.
