Dunno. Maybe they have to build in a lot more redundancy for use as a HDD replacement? There are supposedly limited write cycles lifespan on flash memory isn't there?
Yeah, as Geo said the flash memory used on sticks has significantly lower write cycles compared to the ones used in SSD. There are some devices or tricks that you can use memory sticks as a HDD and they will go bad rather quickly.
