Affordably priced would be under $200, which is what the 1GB retails for right now. I think so far the highest capacity is 2GB, but what about a year, two years, or three years out?
okay. my hunch... One year out:
2 GB becomes affordable
4 GB is announced
year and a half
2 GB is a bargain
4GB becomes available
two years out:
4 GB is affordable
8 GB is announced
three years out:
due to production issues and high demand, prices skyrocket for a while
2GB is affordable
4GB no longer affordable but remains somewhat available
8GB is ridiculously scarce and expensive
four years out:
issues resolved, this time theres a huge inventory of these mem chips, prices go through the floor
8 GB is affordable
16 GB is announced
five years out:
psp 2 announced, uses some presently uknown kind of memory solution
16 GB stays affordable as long as market requires it
32 GB is announced and becomes somewhat available but will never become really affordable.
further out in the future:
The standard will become a part of the history of gaming devices and memory solutions.
