Is this in-game shot?

It seems that there are no apperant jaggies. Does that mean that the developers now start to take the tiling into account to enable AA in their game engines?

No apparent jaggies?! There's jaggies everywhere!! Look at the guy's shoulder bit for example. The image has VERY low contrast so the jaggies are not too evident, but there is no AA on that pic. If there is, it's broken.

I do not know.. Look at guys head (in front of the neon light).. I do not see bad jaggies over there. Btw, I used the term "apperant". I do not think 4xAA clear all the AA problems.

You must have some incredible eyes to be able to tell precisely how much AA is applied by looking at a resized and extremely compressed jpg conversion of a screenshot.

Well if the pix has been resized then what's the point of this thread?

Obviously if the pic has been resized, no one can tell.

My comment about the guy's shoulder bit stems from the assumption that the pic is at its original resolution. In addition, those jaggies would have nothing to do with jpeg compression.

BTW, yes my eyes are f**kin incredible

My eyes are really bad actually :) But if there is AA, it is either 2xAA or 4xAA, so I picked the latter. Also,I just asked if people think there is AA or not, not their opinion about my eyes.

Btw, there is no problem with the quality of jpg. If you zoom in the high-contrast area, you will see that there is only very slight quality loss. You can still tell if there is AA or not.

London-boy, I just checked the image again (with x2 zooming). You are right, there is no AA at all in the guy's shoulder. But, interestingly, there is AA at his head. Though, as powderkeg pointed out, the image is resized slightly (1280x720 to 1024x526), so it is highly probable that a slight low-pass filter is applied prior to downsizing. However, it does not explain why only head gets the filtering effect, but the shoulder does not.

Everything in the Mass Effect trailer was confirmed as either in-engine cutscenes, or ingame, and Bioware's cut-scenes are usually the same as the game.

This looks an awful like being in-game in KOTOR talking to somebody, so I would guess that specific shot is actually in-game, not a cut scene

My purpose of starting this thread is quite the opposite. I thought they have started to implement the 3d rendering engine so that they can enable AA on 360. However, from the given information, I think the conclusion is we can not tell if it is enabled or not.

Btw, with or without jaggies, I still have very high hopes for this game.

You got me. I was just noticing that the shot is at 1024X576 resolution which isn't the native resolution of the game.

Besides, unless I am mistaken, that shot is at least a month old as well.
