I want this! Love the sound effects. Thumbs up to the designers.

mm... shiny. From what I understand, the blue on the console is actually a darker shade than the photo there illustrates.

Got the best excuse to preorder this tomorrow... need a new pin for the Nintendo DS :)

What are the tips for the hard core PS3 owner, that really knows nothing about what i should get along with this package? HDMI Cable i guees? What about the controllers, are the rechargeable or still using batteries? wifi included?

help obi wan kenobi.. your my only hope

The wireless controllers use AA batteries, you can buy a play and charge kit (which is just a battery pack with a USB cable charger that lets you recharge while using the controller) for like $30 (or like $10 for a 3rd party one although they typically have weaker batteries) or just use rechargeable batteries. Some of the packages include a play and charge kit, and/or extra controllers, no idea what's in that package other than a white kinect.

I'm not sure when you are expecting this but the bundle was delayed since the game is...undergoing some...changes. Given the games state it would not surprise me if this came even later than March 2012.

Thanks, shouldn´t be a problem, got lots of toys that need AA :)

And the release time doesn´t really matter it´s not like i need it to play any games right now, i just need it in my collection and i know my kids are gonna love kinnect, they already tried it at a friends house :)

Yeah, I have a play n charge kit laying around somewhere and dont even use it. I bought a 48 pack of Best Buy store brand Alkaline AA's a ways back for like 11 bucks, the pack lasts forever for all my AA needs. They last a long time in 360 controller (not that I'm the biggest game player anyway). I find it way simpler than messing around with rechargeable anything, and cost effective. I also dont like how rechargeable AA's dont hold a long term charge in storage.

Had to change the WII remotes batteries today, was a bit surprised that they didn´t last longer.. even though the kids have been playing for hours with the WII so i guess they last pretty good :). Maybe i got a bit to comfy with having 3 PS3 controllers around.

But as you said, have plenty of those AA on the shelves :)

And preordered the Starwars Edition.. in denmark it just costs $640 ...

Not all Rechargable AAs are like that. There are some specially crafted that will hold 90% of their charge over 6 months and 85% over 1 year. Look into Low Self-Discharge (LSD) NiMH style. Normal rechargables have under 75% of charge in 6 months and around 0% over 1 year.

Are rechargeable Lithium AA's on the market yet? I've certainly played a long time with just the Li AA's...

I don't think so, I've never seen lithium rechargeable AA batteries for sale and I've looked.

The play and charge kit gives around 40 hours (when new, I think mines down to around 20 now) on a charge, I'm sure a good set of AA's will last quite a bit longer.

The reason why you haven't seen rechargeable Li-Po AAs is due to the voltage which is incompatible with AA devices. Most devices designed to work with the lower voltage of AA batteries won't work with Li-Po's higher 3.7V. A single cell Li-Po has a much higher voltage than even 2 AA cells which at most is 3V. As to LSD get Sanyo Eneloops, they are LSD batteries.

Can't see if you got an answer to the wifi question, but AFAIK all new model xbox's comes with built in wifi, so yes it's included :)
I also think a HDMI cable is included as well, at least it was in my 250GB model.

Why won't they work? The higher voltage should just mean lower operating current.

To further illustrate what I mean:

http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/360_diagram1.jpg

Both controller types specify 5V, 400 or 450mA. Using regular AA batteries, the controllers are going to end up drawing more current...

As I said most devices designed for AA can only use Alkaline or NiMH....even rechargeable Zi-Nc AA batteries with slightly higher 1.6V are not safe for these devices and cause a malfunction. That doesn't mean some other devices are designed this way. The Xbox controller may work but no battery company is going to manufacture a single cel 3.7V Li-Po "AA pack" just for this one device...not to mention the Xbox was designed to charge only Ni-MH. Li-Po chargers are different and not compatible unless the charger is designed to recognize the different types of batteries being charged. I doubt MS or the battery company wants an accidental Li-Po fire because some idiot used the charge cable with a Li-Po battery....That's why you see some chargers with warnings stating it can only charge Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Zi-Nc, Li-Po, Li-Fe etc...

Got it, very nice kit. First hand impressions of the 360/kinect as a n00b.

Setup is easy, updates blinding fast compared to another console i own.

The kid is having fun, but i am surprised by the small area that is covered (kids move around a lot). But it's extremely impressive technology and i think to a great extent it's very well implemented with the controls etc.

Starwars Kinect is so so, very starwars and very kinect, if that makes sense..

But for me personal, as a to old gamer , i don't like kinect at all, no finesse no value added for me in any way whatsoever in solo game it's just another way of having "fun" with others.
