It's pretty, yes.

However:
I'm getting close to being officially tired of the cinematic lighting direction being used to rub it in your retinas that a game has "realistic" lighting. (in many upcoming games, not just this one)

Everything doesn't need godrays out the ass and flare effects from every light source to be good.
The Helgast glowing eyes effect has been something I've been willing to let slide as an artistic choice, even though they should have figured out what massive problem it would be in actual combat about ten seconds into the first firefight.

Can you imagine how obscenely bright that Helgast's eyes have to be to produce a visual flare effect when the player IS STARING INTO THE GODRAY-SHOOTING SUN?
 
Yes, it's not so much the technologies but the art direction. Hope they show more environment variety and styles in TGS.

Assuming this gen is really easier to develop (and the tools are more mature), I hope developers have the time and courage to experiment with gameplay and visual style after the first wave of games.
 
Oh man the game is corrupted, pixelated shadows! How will anyone tolerate this...

The disappointment, I can not experience enough... I demand satisfaction...

Too bad for Guerilla Games, better luck next time.... difficult to please is difficult to please... tough cookie is a tough cookie, sorry!
 
Pixelated shadows...:???:

I am guessing, shadow being blurred according to distance as the Sun is being treated as an Area light and not a point light. Perhaps they are using box filter for the blur and the iterations aren't enough in this alpha code. GG has confirmed that every light source in KZSF is an area light.

Or simple soft shadows with not enough blur value yet. Something that brings fps plummeting down in my modded Doom 3.

Buzzwords, buzzwords., this gen will be full of buzzwords as new tech comes in.

The M82 is in the game, it was even shown in the original gameplay from E3.

I would be very surprised if they take it out, and yes I agree... they better not change it too much! It's such a fantastic piece of imaginary kit :)

And no, DS3 will not be compatible with PS4.

The thing I don't know is if DS4 will be compatible with PS3 (I doubt it right now).

M82 is also in Killzone Mercenary, but that game takes place around the time of Killzone 2 which is like 30 years before Shadowfall.

In that Mercenary video, the Helghasts feel tougher. In a few scenes, you need to melee them with Kungfu chops, or gun them down before you get to stab them for finishing move.

In KZSF, you can just jump on them and cut them up like tofu. The Helghast soldiers feel like helpless mall cops in space costumes. :-/

Hoping to see some tough fights in KZSF.
 
I liked that KZ Mercenary it's easier to kill enemies. I noticed that too. I'm not decided yet if I like it better or not, but I did enjoy it a ton :)

KZ SF I really couldn't tell, I was too busy being mesmerized by the graphics...

I hope we get the sequel to the ending of KZ2... that was a tough fight from the toughest fights... probably one of my favourite endings in a FPS ever. It took me at least 30 or 40 tries to beat it on the hardest mode, that was intense and very gratifying to finish.

Rico the lazy punk could have been more helpful... but anyway lol.

KZ3's ending was... very ____________ in comparison... no description to say, it was just... lol. Not exciting for FPS.
 

Doesn't look like the iconic M82, missing the trademark perforated barrel. That gun was the face of KZ for me. I'll miss it.
I think the fact that u customise it with upgrades makes it lose its set image.
