Kerry: Interngate Redux?

Wow. American politics are going to be nasty this year. This bombshell (supposedly leaked by Chris Lahane), plus several political hit pieces posing as news stories over the national guard stuff have made this week one of the nastiest I can remember.

And we're 9 months away...

Crikey. What's wrong with American politicians? Surely they should be able to keep it in their trousers?

[tongue firmly in cheek]British politicians, on the other hand, are always true to their spouses.[/tongue firmly in cheek]

It must be something in the water around DC, or maybe there's some special intern training academy where they teach them how to seduce powerful politicians.

Well let's at least hope Kerry's intern is a dish, instead of a skank tramp like Lewinsky. If you're gonna ruin your career over an intern, at least make her worth it.

I'm not sure I understand..... Is this just a story about him cavorting with an intern, or is there something sinister on this, i.e. he abused her or something?

If it's just cavorting, well hey, look what happened the last time this happened. Clinton Redux?

But if he did something like abuse her, then he needs to burn for this. Long live Edwards! :)

True. Looks like it might be difficult to prove, too, since Kerry's never had to testify under oath about her like Clinton did with Lewinsky. I wonder if he'll get away with it...

Unlike the Monica Lewinsky drama, which first played out publicly in this space, with audio tapes, cigar and a dress, the Kerry situation has posed a challange to reporters investigating the claims.

"There is no lawsuit testimony this time [like Clinton with Paula Jones]," a top source said Thursday night. "It is hard to prove."

Clinton was well established in office, Kerry is fighting for a chance to fight for the job....BIG difference.

I'm just wondering why in the hell Clark is endorsing him after making the comment about the intern? :?

Because he might be on the short list for vp. Simple as that. Thats the same reason why edwards hasnt gone completly negative on kerry.

For the love of God, the intern must be better looking than Monica.
The one thing I liked about clinton was that he always went after average looking women. ;)

I'm struggling to care about whether he took his intern over the desk, since it really doesn't affect his ability to hold office. Then again, that didn't stop America getting up in arms about Clinton...

As we have seen, a president that has sex is unacceptable. Let's have one that kills thousands of civilians instead!!

Don't forget this is the country that gets up-in-arms about nipples on the telly. I thought we Brits had a hang-up about sex, but compared to our brothers across the pond we're really rather well adjusted.

Well, it's also a matter of trust. It shouldn't matter what sexual relations he has, but if he has no moral problems with cheating on his wife, then it's not a too large step to imagine that he may not have any moral problems with breaking his political promises.

Why? Does that mean that everyone that has cheated on his/her partner is not fit to have responsible jobs? Cause there's much more of them (err... us) than you think...

Personally, if the major party candidates end up being Kerry and Bush, I think we as a country should seriously consider adding a "None Of The Above" option to the ballot. Or a ficus tree, ;), for all you Moore lovers.

Cheating on your wife is breaking a promise and knowingly doing something you know will hurt the one you're supposed to love. It's like breaking a contract. It doesn't exactly exude trust.

The sex in itself doesn't matter. He can screw whoever he want, he can live in an open relationship and all that. However, he is married. He have made a promise to be truthful to his wife. He should keep his promises, or divorce.
