Is this is an offline render using game assets? Looks pretty good to me.

Kameo is great showcase for the 360, IMHO. Can't get enough of the water and fur!

I think it looks good, it's more cartoony, but Kameo wasn't really shooting for realism,

Then they should have made the fire less realistic, it looks strange on that character.

I think these are pretty much the in-game models! Don't worry, some people just can't see good in anything, these are absolutely stunning. Some people need to go play their PS2 a little more, and realize what current gen graphics actually look like!

According to RARE the art style is "If Pixar made LOTR"

I think phil and gholbine are being fair. The bumping on the dragon's head really is a mess. Technically it looks good, same as the bug (and the bug's bumps are stylish, and the molten lava glow is realsitic) but artistically the dragon's overdetailed. The bug's very cool though. Very 'Pixary' in design quality.

FAIR??

These models MUST coexist with 5,000 other trolls/objects and background detail+ flying dragons+ HDR + shadows + without slowdown.

They could *easily* make these models 200,000-400,000 + polys and then limit the amount of on screen action, but they have opted(design choice) to make HUGE areas with tons of characters.

It's very amazing to see them maintain this high poly character with thousands of orcs/trolls/dragon/particles/objects.

I'm VERY impressed.

hem.. i don't want nor will enter a debate with people i 'll consider desperatly lacking any artistical taste (sorry ,my whole life has been around art and graphics ,so it would be hard to change now ;) ) but (for fairness ' sake ):
Nor me nor Gholbine were talking about technical merits, here .Only artistic POV.

BTW , when i saw design like this ,i won't blame only the 3d artists :

yes, sure :pixar doing LOT.It has all the sound of a joke for me.

Bumb mapping looks kind of badly used I think. Some surfaces look nice on the dragon, others look blurry and.....flat?:???:

Btw:Jesus I can draw better characters than that

AND I AM NOT GETTING PAID!!They should hire ME!! :devilish:

I could imagine that character looking amazing if the Project Offset guys were modelling it. Even if only to be stuck in the Kameo engine. I'm with the guys that aren't moved by Kameo's art style. I liked it in Starfox Adventures, but we've come a long way since then.

I like Kameo's art style. I just don't like that one dragon! And as a charcter it's cool. Tone down the bumpping on the head and clean up the bumps on the belly and I'd have no complaints.
