Just bought two boats.

I don't know why, but my wife wanted me to bring her some lunch at work and take the kids in for a visit...and we came home with a couple of boats for 'em.

Kind of like the above, but 62" long and different colors. (But they came with the oars and for $12us didn't seem like such a bad deal.)

Now the kids are eating and I'm just getting ready to inflate 'em and see if they both will fit in the pool....

are you sure your not confusing boat with "blow up doll". ;) im sure you can use either as a floating devise.

epic

Just got in from the first maiden voyages and I'd have to say it's a smashing success....pictures as soon as I can figure out where I put the darn camera.

Isn't the boy pissed that he got a purple boat, rahter than a manly blue one ;) It appears the girl won the first sea fight.

No, they're both tickled to death with the boats. :)

And he didn't lose, he was underneath it trying to sneak up on her so I told her to whack his boat with her paddle to scare him and boy did it!

Hehe, WTG Wanderer, just don't buy them life jackets at the 99 cent store! :p

No life jackets, I'm waaaay too cheap for them sissy devices! ;)

Not really, I just hate the false sense of security they provide. I prefer to just always be with them when they're in the pool, it seems a tad safer.

The kids are absolutely insanely in love with their pool & boats, they've been running in the PC room every 5 minutes this morning trying to rush me thru my coffee so I'll take them out there! (Fat chance on rushing me. Two reasons; one I hate being rushed, two you don't WANT to rush me before I've had me coffee! ;) )

Someone told me I was spoiling 'em, but I don't see how a cheap little pool and some cheap little boats are "spoiling" them....I sort of figure it's just some summer fun and good memories and such. :)

Aaawww, what a daddy he is!!! *impressed* Hehee, WTG man. Hug your kids a lot; that is good for their mental development (scientifically proven!) :)

cute man . My parents got my sisters a pool when i was like 4 . It was huge. Its still up some 19 years later . But i was never allowed in it. Cause i wasn't special

Off topic, but is there much of a difference in the pronunciation of "boat" and "bought"? Cause it comes out pretty much the same from my mouth...

I think there is.
Boat is pronounced with a shorter "ou"
Bought is pronounced with a longer "oo"

At least that's how I'd pronounce them.

Are you a Geordie? :D

Being from the south (and hence dead posh and that) I pronounce boat as b-ohh-t, and bought as b-or-t.

I know a few Geordies/Maccams, they pronounce all vowels the same it seems, for them boat = bought = b-or-t.
