Issue burning DVDs.

I figure this is more or less a problem for the Hardware Talk section...

A friend of mine has an LG 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-5120D' external DVD burner, and for some reason, it's suddenly failing to burn anything.

DVD Shrink reports a burn failure, simple as that, Nero fails shortly after the Lead-in process, and CloneDVD makes the temp image on the HDD, and just rapes the DVD for a good3 or 4 minutes (sitting at 0% burn the whole time), before Crashing and failing to ever load again without a reinstall.

The drive is running DMA mode, it reads any DVD/CD just fine..it's just the burning. I'm quoting a section of an error log he sent me, supposedly from DVD Shrink (but it looks like a Nero log to me, for obvious reasons). If anyone has any clue as to what the exact cause of the failure is, it'd be greatly appreciated. He has to use compression because he can't burn a dual layer DVD with this burner, but this has always worked in the past. He's also tried multiple types of discs, some high quality and verified to work with DVD Shrink. Mind the long quote, I figure it's best to just throw in the whole report, rather than a few sections that I might assume are relevant.
