Is Carmack the only one still using OpenGL?

Among the major game developers and engine builders, I mean. It does seem as though everyone else has committed to DirectX. I suppose one might count the "Serious Engine", but I don't consider Croateam to be a major game developer.

Other than Doom3 and Quake4, which are obviously using the same engine, are there any other major OpenGL-based Windows titles in development?

And speaking of DirectX, is there any public documentation for DirectX/LH yet?

Yeah ... I've noticed the same thing : lesser people are using OpenGL now ...

Why is that ?

BTW isn't Quake4 a XBOX exclusive ?

croteam is also a strong opengl supporter.

sesam2 is nearing and will have opengl support

Im pretty sure Half-life2 is OpenGL and im also sure its Source engine will spawn many games. Also CS:condition zero is based on the same engine.

i don't think hl2 supports opengl and i don't think CSCZ is based of the hl2 engine but CS2 might be. Well half-life supported opengl because it was based of the quake(2) engine but the half-life2 engine is valves own creation and i think it's d3d only.

I'm making a game in open gl ... of course its more cutting edge in 1993 than it is in 2003 but hey do i count hehe :)

Half-Life was based on the Quake 1 engine + various code/features from Quake 2 and Valves own code.

Heh, I thought it was just an odd/funny way of writing Quake 2. :D
