Thanks Dave

I signed up for my free issue just now :)

Look forward to it; from what you said sounds to be a really good technical magazine.

WHAT IS THAT ON THE COVER???

If its real it looks like a killer mod or outright custom built from scratch.

Is the magazine US/Canada only?

On your "NV30 not taped out" article there's a few factual errors.

First silicon takes closer to 6-8 weeks to get back from the fab. Metal revs take less, assuming you have wafers that you held just after the transistors were layed.

But don't take my word, talk to somebody at TSMC to get your facts directly from the horses mouth. (I'm not a process engineer, just a lowly software engineer in the business)

Well, your experience must be twice as fast as mine. ;)

Your numbers jive with the time to get a metal rev back, but not first silicon.

Even on ballistic or super hot lot, we can't expect initial silicon back in less than 6-8 weeks, which is why I'm suprised that you say 3-4 weeks.

On production runs, TSMC is quoting 8-12 weeks in the fab.

Sorry about that. If you guys send me your European mailing addresses I'll see if I can pull some strings for ya though.

Any questions on the mags content or anything?

It looks like a great enterprise.

The online content needs a bit fleshing out IMO, since some of us cant get the print version.

Howabout one [slightly shorter] review for the online community and some kind of editorial every week. I say week because a month in internet terms is an eternity.

And the editorial? The more obnoxious the better (a la overclockers.com.. just kidding ;))

Well, if it helps, all back issue content will be online. We could release the online content gradually over the following month so there is always new material coming up.

There will be certain things we do online that will be online and not in print though. We might release a company's whitepaper or do a time crunched tech article or a review (or all of those in coming months ;)). While our primary focus is print, the online community will get attention as well.

Sounds groovy :D

"As the first publication to focus heavily on PC modification"- I have to say I had fears of this being an extension of something of MadOnion though. That could get boring quick. Anyway, I signed up for the free issue to give it a test run. :)

Nah, it won't be anything like that. And worse comes to worse, we'll at least have graphics articles every month, including tech ones.

BTW, earlier this morning I arranged for a short plug at VE. Scheduled for VE's server time of 3AM. Just for you :)
