Didn't those original G5 kits ship with 9800 Pros and devs were told to shoot for single digit fps. Then I think I remember some devs started using Nvidia 6800 cards to troubleshoot shader model 3.0 until Xenos silicon started sampling. (probably very soon). Im curious how sound is gonna be handled and what SIS is doing with the chipset. I hope it has dedicated sound and not some sort of AC'97 software type codec that is gonna take heavy CPU cycles.

Well, according to that GameSpy 'scoop' a while back, expect codec. Still, those three cores have to be put to some sort of use, right? I'm sure CPU cycles dedicated to sound won't be any sort of crippling strain on the system.

512MB memory, sweeeet

err... ,the xbox devkit had 128 MB (twice the console) .

Hmm..I'm hoping that the website that reported X360 has having 512MB, based on dev kit documentation, wasn't simply looking at the amount of RAM in the kit, then :?

I see what you are getting at. you're hope that the dev kits do not have only 512 MB RAM because then the retail consoles might only have 256 MB.

hope the dev kits have at least 1 GB if not 1.5 GB so that the consumer Xbox360 has 512 to 768 MB :)
