What is this *fact* you speak of . . . that most people think COD4 is better than Halo 3, or that your opinion trumps all others?
Halo 3 has sold 5+ million copies, and routinely has 300000 to 500000 people playing online at any given time. Has COD4 posted better numbers than this?
The first Halo game sold 1+ million copies on the PC, and it still has quite a few servers up and running to this day.
The only Halo game that didn't do well on the PC was a Halo 2. Not surprising given that Halo 2 was easily the weakest game in the trilogy, the graphics were crap, and MS insisted on making it Vista only.
So it seems like your *facts* are a little off, and that your opinion is in the minority. But whatever. Keep on hating.
Except not. As I pointed out, many polls have been created, and Halo 3 has not won goty by the general gamers. Nor has it bested COD4 the Gamepro article I quoted. Reading
futuremarks forums a thread was created saying COD4 is the best FPS on the 360. And guess what, many (if not all) agree. You find threads like this all over. Same with polls, I have not seen a single poll with Halo 3 being the favorite game, or fps of the 360 this year.
Sure Halo 3 has sold a ton of copies. It sold a ton the first day it came out, from hype. Titanic was also a great blockbuster in terms of cash... think its the best movie? I never said Halo 3 was a bad game. Just that in my opinion, and most out there, its not the best game, or even the best shooter on the 360.
Halo sold "a lot", largely because it was given away with certain hardware, and is still for sale for $20 today. Considering its still on shelves selling today, years later. At Walmart, its right there with the new titles, same with other stores. That doesnt mean its played a lot.
"The only Halo game that didn't do well on the PC was a Halo 2." You mean, the only one besides the first? Yeah, its sales have sucked, and do did reviews.
As I told another poster, if you put your ear to the pulse of the community, you would see that most prefer COD4. Ever since it came out, thats all I hear from my coworkers. How good it is, and how they hardly play Halo 3 anymore. While I play it on a PC, because controls are better, I have to agree. Again, thats not saying that Halo 3 is a bad game, its far from that. Just that its not the best, in most opinions. I may lean towards COD4, being a US Marine (1371) myself. Which is what you get to play as in part of COD4. And the realism of the game, is striking. Its nice,
and eerie to play with the weapons you train with, and go to war with, with a lot of the same fire team based tactics. When a grenade hits you, something actually happens. That doesnt change the
fact that most prefer COD4 when voting. Such as the source of this topic did.
Maybe that will help you understand better..
