2.13 MB here, but I'm willing to bet my machine back in the states has a MUCH larger one.

I believe this is the file that holds all the icons for media files and whatnot. I don't have much in the way of media on this machine in Japan.

dont you have a gazillion games installed? and would that not increase your iconDB?
Basic Xp32 2.21mb~

4.02MB but it would probably be a lot bigger if it wheren't becouse I use the Vista cleanup utility. But still thats big Davros. You should cut down on your pr0n library to make more space for games! :p

Davros, you know one day soon you WILL have to get a new computer and format with a new modern windows install. Your living in denial!

The reason I checked out iconcache was because occasionally when i click on the games folder on the start menu the computer will hitch and the hdd grind away. I'm guessing its because for some reason all my games icons have been kicked out of the cache and the computer has to go searching the hdd for them.

So I had a brain wave, using resource hacker I extracted all the icons from the game exe's just 32x32 not all the formats to keep the size down (believe me thats a chore you don't want to have to do too often) then I put them into into an icon library *.icl file (replaced some of them with better ones if I had them) came out at 12mb

So now if the cache has to be rebuilt the pc only has to search a single file.

All i have to do now is go through the start menu games folder and tell the shortcuts to use the icon in the icl file. :(

edit: Isnt it always the way you end up missing one, I'm not bloody starting again
