I am not sure if I should do this...

I'll keep the "who cares" part of your post until I see something on shelves ;)

Nappe1,

I can't tell if are you serious or not, do you actually believe that Bitboys will release a card this year? Or even next year?

hehe :) this means I have succeded. ;)

How much you wanna bet that there will be no card, no anouncement from Bitboys this year?

I don't wanna bet anything. we are talking about GFX industry so anything in good or bad is possible.

Ofcourse I could be wrong, but I am willing to put some money on it... say if I am wrong, I will buy you the top of the range Bitboys card, if I am right, you buy me the top of the range ATI or Nvidia card?

What do you say? :D

look the previous answer.

Actuall make that either ATI, Nvidia, Matrox or 3Dlabs top card.... wich ever one I choose at the time. Its going to be a good christmas (lets hope) this year, 4 cards to choose from!

as I said, no further comments.
and besides, we already have 4 manufacturers (Matrox, SiS, Ati and nVidia) to choose from and when the 3DLabs cards hit the streets, we have 5. ;)

Don't forget Via/S3 and PowerVR.

I didn't. I just put up those who has some chip and/or card out that could be say as choice.

perfect situation on christmas would be:
- ATI
- nVidia
- PowerVR
- SiS
- Matrox
- S3
- Bitboys
...going on head top head competition with almost equal performance figures and having a price war.

...BUT I doubt that could happen. there is just too many question marks.

Yeah, realistically we'll have ATi, Nvidia and maybe Matrox (we'll see in the reviews on Tues) for high end and maybe one of the others coming up with a surprising card. The rest will end up battling it out for the low end.

Why is it, that most of the talks are about mobile platforms ? Expect the one by Petri Nordlund ?

Or...

http://www.ionific.com/press/press4.shtml

http://www.hybrid.fi/whitepaper/

"The Mobile Multimedia Enabler
Founded in 1994, Ionific initially began designing and implementing audio-visual systems and fault-tolerant networks. The past projects contribute greatly to the current pool of expertise within the company; our recent major customers include Nokia, Bitboys and Secwell Networks."

"Hybrid's Evangelist Mr Jouni Mannonen holds a workshop at this year's Computer Games and Digital Cultures -conference at Tampere, Finland on June 6th. The topic of the workshop is "Designing Around Limitations: Games on Limited Devices", and it concerns game development on PDAs and other limited environmnets. "

(speculation on)
So, basically Bitboys bought 3D coding from Hybrid and sound stuff from Ionific, for the "GPU-in-your-mobile-phone -demostration".
(speculation off)

Ok, whitepaper is bit old, but it's still interesting :)
