How good is XB360 BC nowadays?

Just wanting some feedback on XB360's BC acouple of months on. Anyone tried some old games? Are many working? Are there any bugs or improvements? Are there frequent updates to BC files on Live?

I have yet to hear anything positive about it from friends that have X360's. None of them use it to play Xbox games.

I bought Crimson skies . its nice , plays I think perfectly.. only problem
is it plays only in 4;3 mode.

xbox360 is connected trough VGA to my lcd tv and resolution set to 1360x768

this page is "continually" updated. Latest additions have a "new" label next to them. They haven't updated since December though.

Wouldnt that be more like "you have yet to hear anything" positive or negative since they dont play their Xbox games on it?

I tried Halo and Halo 2 on it and it was flawless, but haven't tried anything else. But for kicks I will do it this weekend and report back.... Stay tuned.

Whew, glad to see they got Barbieâ„¢ Horse Adventuresâ„¢ Wild Horse Rescueâ„¢ working with the 360.

Numerous Xbox reps have stated numerous times that many games worked "for free" with the base emulator. Any game where you go, "I can't believe they wasted time on that" just assume it's a freebie.

Similar feedback on the Halos, they actually run better on 360.
I found Halo 2 to be buggy. Some simple graphical glitches, like losing cross-hairs, to dieing randomly once. It looked better on my eyes, because of the AA.

Then again, the novelty wore of quickly and I stopped wasting time on old games. :p

There was a Splinter Cell update afaik (only update theres been, a week or two after launch). It was pulled but is back up I think.

Really, its all just been described as one bug after another, some of the games listed don't work, others have slowdown. Keeping the Xbox seems easier.

The only games I played BC this gen were RPGs, the only ones I plan to play next-gen BC are RPGs, so I'm not really worried about X360 failings in that department ;)

I guess I should have clarified (even though I thought the implication was obvious). They don't use it currently, for various reasons (read: the negative things I've heard). They've tried it, and have kept their Xbox so they can actually play the old games.

who knows though, do your test and see what you find (some games have slowdowns only at certain parts -- like NG).

Heh, not so much I hear.

As for the games I have tried; I have played Halo2, Crimson Skies, and THUG:2 on mine. THUG:2 is too choppy to be playable and obviously rendered at a lower resolution than when running on the orignal XBox. Crimson Skies and Halo2 single player I only played a bit of and they both worked nicely for me, but Halo2 multiplayer is a complete letdown. It does look much nicer thanks to the AA and runs well most of the time, but when the action gets hot things get rough. The worst I have seen was 6v6 in Turf where everyone was fighting it out around an exploding warthog that blew a dumspter across the map and both framerate and sound both cut in and out for a few seconds before picking back up again. I've also heard of people getting ghostly images of other parts of the game overlayed on the screen, though I have never seen that for myself.

But as for now, 360 BC, has totally let me down. I mostly just wanted it to play Halo 2 multiplayer on the console, but as for now I've been spending my time with other games and considering hooking my oirgnal Xbox back up if MS doesn't manage to get an update out sometime soon.

I've played Halo and it was better on the 360, I played Forza Motorsports and it seemed smoother on the 360 and I've tried SplinterCell : Chaos Theory which seemed about the same. I'm just not into the original Xbox games anymore because the 360 games just look much much better.

I've personally have never understood the draw of BC being so important. My xbox didn't disappear when I bought the 360 so I literally have full BC :) Next generation console....I should be interested in next generation games.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory was my favorite game on the original Xbox.....graphics are some of the best (of the games I own) and I enjoyed the game play. But after playing 360 games.....Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory looks like garbage now....so I don't even play it anymore (looking forward to the next one....).

BC is so overrated (to me anyway).....it's next gen time, not last gen time !! :)

Ninja Gaiden has horrible HORRIBLE HORRIBLE framerate dips, quite frequently. I haven't bothered with any other games.
Same experience here. I thought they fixed some of the framerate dips, but to be honest I can't be bothered to try many more games. I may try Chaos Theory though...

If you try Chaos Theory just don't go online with it.....from what I've read on the SC:CT board the patch they push out with the new downloadable content for SC:CT makes it stop working on the 360.

Maybe they're going to play-through each of the games they list are compatible this time? ;)

Really though, the team took the holidays off, good for them....I don't think it sounds like much is/will be getting done (from the full article). Around March is Oblivion anyway...
