So I can play Gunz,mame, and chankast.

yes, no ram upgrade needed unless your games need it.
I tried DSL a while ago and didn't like the NeXT based desktop with the weird squares.
try it you only need a CD-R .
there are a number of light distros. I have to finish building a P3 with 192MB, will try.. Fluxbuntu on it.

i beleive if you have 128mb or moreit can run completely from ram
taking the hdd out would help battery life
