How do I install Windows 98?

I have a Windows 98 SE disc. But it's an upgrade disc. The retail store I bought it at back then said you couldn't buy the full version. Did they really not sell full versions anywhere?

You could buy them back in the day but good luck getting hold of it legally today.

At this point I believe I can say this because Win 95 has to be abandonware.

Just torrent a copy of win 95 and burn to disc. When the 98 installer prompts you for a disc, voila!

at that point you could say that 98 is abandonware too and download it in the first place!
btw I remember reading fun stuff at the time about windows 95 upgrade version, you could get it to install just having little more than a C:\WINDOWS directory with a blank win.com file in it but that got fixed.

you need to find a 98 regular disk or a 95 disk

and you also need older HW to run it on ... Win98 doesn't it plays too nicely with dual core and multi-gpu nor 2GB of RAM even

EDIT: i found it .. and it is an OEM version of Win 98 .. i am not so sure it is "legal" anymore or that if MS cares .. i can mail it to you like netflix does with a key if your mods will allow me to do so

Also .. you CAN find copies of Win98 .. do a froogle search or hit ebay

*cough* . . . with MS Office 97 "upgrade" when the installation asks for 'older version's, you just point it to the install CD!!
- it might work with Win98SE; i just don't remember
