How can new console improve on games compared to this gen?

Because humans are not perfectly efficient. A non-human, smart IA would provide an incredibly fascinating challenge, and would be different from what multiplayer could give, thus making for a much more interesting single player experience.

this explains it perfectly. Not everyone wants to play Angry Birds physics games.

Since you play fighting games you realize perfectly how awesome a really smart AI would be there. It can't teach you the mindgames, but a good AI would allow pretty much every newbie to learn the game from the bottom up.
I suggested it on shoryuken.com and capcom forums, but got pretty much ignored...

I want destructibility like Red Faction! That would be pretty fun even though it would be difficult for developers to implement in a non game breaking way. I think it would be interesting if in say the next Elder Scrolls game you can break down walls and damage towers if you're powerful enough and let the player themselves deal with the consequences.

You are not going to get any kind of good A.I. discussion going on among fighting games foaks because they focus on breaking the game engine rather than the A.I.

Hmm, the top players are more about mindgames and metagame than really pushing the game to the limits (generally they aren't the ones discovering stuff, like the unblockables and OSes).
But yeah, most FG players don't care about SP at all. Hell, most of them bash online as well, focusing on offline play.
A pretty traditionalist bunch. :D

Back on topic. I want games to expose their assets on disk and only encrypt on the code. So that techy users can hack at the game resources. Some time I wish you go more for your money when you bought video games but I guess that is a pipe dream :(
