How can I download vidoes embedded in a webpage?

I tried downloading them using Flashget but couldn't.

The videos are on this page. Can anyone help me, I desperately need those videos.

1. Start playing a video, right-click -> properties.
2. Copy the contents of the Location field (it's an URL).
3. Download the ASX that this URL points to.
4. Open the downloaded ASX with a text editor (it was named play.asp in my case) and find the "mms://" URL in there.
5. Let Flashget download that URL - that should be the movie you wanted.

Actually here's an easier way of doing it:

look at the link of the video on the page (e.g. the first one is "javascriptpenwin('Sare17jan06Ep220_1-128k.wmv')"), and append "mms://210.210.2.74/bbpublish/" in front of the file name.

Net Transport is able to retrieve the actual link most of the time. Just past the link from the player and it'll get it for you. You might be able to find an older shareware version, if you don't like to pay for it.

It was in the ASX file of the first movie I tried downloading. It worked for the second one also, so I guessed it might be the same for all of them (haven't checked that myself.)

I looked it up by hand.

1. Open the source of the html (in Opera it's Alt+F3 for the current frame). There's a menu item in IE, called "View Source", same for Firefox i believe.

2. Look for "EMBED" or "OBJECT" tag in there, usually both of them are present to handle browser compatibility issues. In this case there's only "OBJECT". It describes the embedded media parameters, like media size (height, width), position (top, left), plugin to use / MIME type, etc.

3. Somewhere in this tag there should be an attribute, or another sub-tag ("PARAM") that's something like "src" or "file" or similar, you have to look for it. In the above html it's a "PARAM" tag with name "Filename", and the value is the URL above.

4. I use usually Flashget for downloading, since it's capable of handling the mms protocol.

Ok, I found out how to save it, the embedded audio file I played got saved in Temp Internet Files.

I also found out that an embedded audio file can also be recorded (while being played) using a recording utility like Cool Edit. Do you guys know which is the best "free" recording utility?

When you click on one of the links the site opens a new window with a small javascript sniplet that opens the actual ASF file. Looking at it it seems to be in the form of "http://bbmedia.sify.com/mms/new/playfile.asp?WMBitrate=' + speed + '&f=' + 'music/' + clipname + '&s=1", where speed by default is 45000.

I tried downloading some of those and all of them pointed basically to "mms://202.144.111.152/clips/music/+ clipname +?WMBitrate=45000", e.g. the first one was "mms://202.144.111.152/clips/music/sare15feb06_229Hema1-128k.wma?WMBitrate=45000".
