Some reviewers mention massive pop-in apparently and some bugs...uah, so Sony first party are also losing their mojo? I hope they can fix it at day 1.

What is going on with this brain drain in the gaming industry...it seems that no one knows how to handle large software projects anymore :(
Skill Up also found 4 huge FPS drops after 6 or 7 hours during his play through however restarting the game solved the problems. He also pointed out the pop-in. There's bugs but GG will likely sort that out within a few weeks.

EDIT: animals look much better

Weird mouth … is that a photo mode feature, to use morphing filters?

I suspect burnout from work
They have REALLY got to change the game development process. There's no damned good excuse for crunchtime being more than a few weeks, it's not supposed to be the whole project!

I hate to think how many great programmers just got tired of being treated like shit and went to do something else with their talents, I know a couple personally so I have a feeling it's a lot. :(

they developed game for 5 years, not saying there wasnt any crunch but development for sure was long for a crossgen sequel

Unfortunately, a big part of that is that despite development costs being massively higher than it was 20 years ago, games are cheaper now than they were 20 years ago.

AAA games "should" be selling for 120+ USD a game or more to keep up with the increased cost of developement. At which point you could either hire more developers and/or take more time for developement.

I imagine for crunch to "mostly" go away would require potentially doubling the development time of games (from 3-5 years to 6-10 years per title) but also increasing the number of people creating the assets for the game (not programmers).

Not something possible if "gamers" refuse to pay more for games.

SB

This is my most anticipated game but I don't know when I will be able to play it. No restock of PS5 in Spain since two months. There was a little stock I heard beginning of January but I was too late and nothing since that.

buy it on PS4, the PS5 upgrade is still free ! and it'll cost you less.

I don't play on PS4 Pro anymore. The noise is insufferable. I wait a PS5 to finish TLOU2 and play Ghost of Tsushima. I have the money for a PS5 but there is no console and I will not pay 799 euros to scalpers.
