Hopefully we'll eventually see games for this console generation taking up 200-300 GB of space with really detailed and varied assets.

I hope we don't. There are alternatives to having massive unique detailed textures, UE5 shows us as glimpse of the future when you work with the concept of building environments and models with a varied array of smaller elements and put them together in ways that make larger objects visually distinctive as well as being very detailed. I think we'll see this approach used more in the future.

I think a game that truly relies on the streaming speed of the new consoles will be able to benefit from both.

Just to be clear, this is not a cross-gen disc release, right? So the disc does not have the PS4 and PS5 versions on it? So this is entirely 97 GB for the PS5 version, quite impressive.

Pretty sure that's correct as you have to choose to either buy the PS5 version on disk or the PS4 version on disk. Alternatively, you can buy a combo box that contains both disks.

From the rumor of people knowning reviewer, the game is great much better than the first one.

I had a quick run around in New Game Plus mode on PS5 and the I'd forgotten how good the combat was. But the UI, particularly the crafting interface, could do with rationalising. I hope they've done that. I also forgot about all the different bows that you swap between. I hope that's more streamlined as well.

I'm really looking forward to the Forbidden West.

Year 1 of PS5 has just ended, and devs are already filling up the triple layered BD XL disc space. 97GB for HFW.

We will for sure get games on two disc quite soon. :runaway:

I think like Uncharted thieves collection the real size will be 20 GB less than what the twitter account playstation size give. And I think like many games they don't use oodle texture.

I just did a 2nd playthrough, finished it last night and all I am thinking is I hope Forbidden West is MUCH improved over this. I don't know if it's nostalgia, but I remember having much more fun back when it released than now. Combat itself is fun, but super clunky, and my biggest gripe is when fighting anything, every machine in a kilometer radius is alerted and gang bangs you. It's great when fighting 2 Thunderjaws every glinthawk and watcher in the area just sneaks up on you and starts cheap shooting you from a distance.

There is also something odd with enemy spawning. A lot of time machines respawn after walking a short distance, its super annoying.

Anyway, rant off. I AM looking forward to the sequel, the setting is awesome, story kept me wanting to uncover everything, and definitely want to see where it goes I just hope they really polish the gameplay this time.
