Just got the Nov. Maximum PC. Their monthly "Best of the Best" (hardware list) was interesting.
"For a second straight month, we see little movement in our most-favored hardware list --save for one gigantic, glaring change: We've bumped nVidia's GeForce FX 5900 Ultra from the high-end videocard slot because of possible issues with Half Life 2. It really comes down to this: ATI's high-end part [they are talking about PRO, not XT] definitely plays the most anticipated game of the year without problems, but we don't have the same confidence in nVidia's best card."
They they ref another article in the mag, which is based on Gabe Newell's presentation at Shader Day.
Be interesting to see what it says next month.
