Here we go.... heh... Im sure this is only the begining.

That's pretty good for a chip that's not even taped out yet.

Seriously, those scores are so incredibly ridiculous, that I doubt anyone will believe them.

There's no way you can even hit 26K 3dmarks with less than like a 5 GHz processor. But, hey if they've got an NV30, maybe they have one of those too! ;)

Heh
It says quite clearly (for those of us who can understand at least some Czech ;)) that: "Information from nVidia indicates following relative performance and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt" (Remember that we could read this on Reactor Critical quite some time ago). Plus even the table indication shader capabilities of NV2X, NV3X and "R9700" indicates 1024 static VS instructions (even if this was publicly corrected by NVidia).
However it's more interesting that they say:
"After NV30 we will see NV31 (cut down version, similar to MX) and 35 (more powerful version, similar to Ti). Both chips are expected to arrive in 2003-2004 timeframe. Somewhere in the future in 2005 timeframe we can expect NV40, "whose features are total mystery to us" (not sure if I understood this part correctly), since this chip is in the first stages of development these days".
I wonder where did they dig out this info...??

Those benchies were extrapolated from the data that Reactor Critical supplied a while back. Like the 3x increase in the fartmark score.

They are, supposedly, the performance increase nVidia claims the NV30 will bring. Be nice if it was realistic, be even nicer if it was true.

I fail to see the suprising thing in this...

The same data Reactor Critical provided some time ago, that was taken from an NDA document btw, the same data I confirmed, along with some other things, was just brought to charts instead of numbers.

R9700pro dominates the market right now, no doubt about that, ATI have delievered BIG TIME!

BUT, I don't think anyone has any doubt that NV30 will dominate once it's out! :D

P.S
And why do u think it's only the beginning? These are simply numbers mentioned earlier brought to charts! Dont expect any more benchmarks until after the NV30 is announced!

alexsok: maybe time to ask yourself: do I really believe these numbers because of A) facts, B) law of physics, C) reliable source or D) because it talks about NV30 and not about some other card?

as being a fan boy (or should I say very highly respectful supporter of some company.) myself, I really can't stand ppl that are jumping the gun just because their favorite company has name on it. Eventhough it would have nothing to do with reality.

P.S. I still wonder how BS Critical is still out there...

I believe these numbers cause my source is a very reliable source, very close to nvidia and because the specs he provided me with very much suit the numbers seen in these benchmarks!

I admit, I'm not a fan of ATI products (I do own some ATI cards), I never was and I probably never will be, since I simply dislike them for many reasons.

Nvidia has always been my favourite company (second being 3dfx).

Unfortunately, I wil never be able to prove to u or to other people here that I'm correct in the NV30 specs I brought, until after NV30 based cards are announced (i'm not allowed to talk about the announcement date as well) and I do have some additional NV30 info that I won't bring here just yet...

Rest assured, I admit that R300 is an AMAZING achievement, although NV30 will be better, and I say it not because I'm an Nvidia fan, but because that's just the way things are!

If it for example would turn out to be slower or less feature rich than R300, I wouldn't be afraid to admit it here and would state ATI's victory for the long term.

What I can say now is that ATI have delievered an amazing product in all aspects and for now, the throne belongs to them.

Can we all agree that unsubstantiated wild claims just need not to be discussed on Beyond3d, even to discuss how wild and unsubstantiated they are?

It always boils down to the same thing, and its very tiring.

I agree!

My purpose by providing u the NV30 specs wasn't to claim that these are indeed NV30 specs (even if they are) cause it was obvious no one would ever believe me, but to at least give u a glimpse of what NV30 will be capable of, even of most of u would think it's exagerrated, untrue rumours.

If i was wrong, then i'm very sorry about that.

I really hope that is what that card can do .. I've always bought Nvidia cards.. but every 2nd Generation .. meaning my current card is GF3 and the next is GF5. :D

Well, we can't have any doubt about something that we don't even know what is (namely the NV30's architecture) can we? So to put it another way: Today I see no reason to assume that NV30 will dominate once it's out...

Time will be the judge (as always)

RussSchultz: nice to see that someone got my point...

I agree that these wild claims without depending manufacturer should not be posted here. everyone should have a bit of judgement able to see if some results are reliable or not.

Beyond3D has changed a lot during this 1.5 years I have been here. I must admit that we have much more biased atmosprehe (a finish phrase: 'someone likes dother, other likes a grand mother.' ;) ) than we used to have, but I don't think it's only bad thing as long as Moderators can handle this new situation and keep their locks ready. ;)

to the Alexsok:
Look, I could all kind of fancy things about the future and how the company that I respect will come and own your ass so totally that nVidia couldn't do the same within next ten years, but who would that help? and how about those poor souls that would believe me, what happens to them IF something goes wrong? You cannot say that any of these companies would be so superior from competitors that they could be still on top even if they would miss few product cycles totally.

Besides, this really is not the place for hyping. (Afaik, we have a way too much of it already so I have stopped it totally. I could have yell "WHAT I DID TELL YA!!!" jump and scream when my favourite company showed their hardware at last. But instead of that, I just stayed on raw facts: simply posted pictures with only nesessary comments. No more, no less.
(I must admit that I really would have loved to drop some heads with very attacking speech especially because of discussion on that Hand Held Devices -thread... but I didn't. so I have some self control left, which is a bit miracle after so many years taking that sh*t.) :)

My advice is, try to calm down. you are going a way too fast. There will be always faster HW in the future. And before replying, always try to place yourself on the place of guy that you are answering and remember that "do the others what you want them to do to you."

You will be a great Beyond3D board user if you just slow down a bit and remember key sentence: Respect the others and you might get some of it yourself.

I hope that some of the other board members read it thru too, because it considers all of us. not just Alexsof.
...and I am even happeir if even someone could agree with me. ;)

I'll amend my statement:

Could we also avoid talking about what card 0w3ns who? Or which company has more or less scruples, or the comparitive business plans?

I realize that pretty much only leaves technical topics, but certainly there's enough reason to flame each other about in that realm of topics to keep everybody happy.

Do us all a favour and stop posting every peice of market wiz, bad
editorial, speculative preview and assorted CRAP on Beyond3D.

We'd rather discuss good things than bad things.

Thank You.

Nappe1 - fair enough! :D

JF_Aidan_Pryde - donno who u meant by that, but if u meant me, then i don't see why u did that... I don't post any market wiz, bad editorial, speculative priviews, all i posted was info about NV30 from a reliable source. You don't like that? Sure m8, I won't post it anymore.

LeStoffer - that's what I meant to say from the beginning - time will tell, and not only whether the NV30 hardware fulfill all of our expectations, but also whether my claims about it's specs were true! :D

Cheers guys, this is a GREAT forum and I do really enjoy posting here! I do agree with the complaints some of you have against me, so i'll be more careful in the future! :D
