Halo: Reach

I didn't see a single thing to complain about. I got all warm fuzzies inside. Can't wait for the beta!

I suggest everybody just stand back, take a breather & then realize we are getting another Halo next year! If you don't like it, then go back & play the previous Halo you like the best. ;) And if you don't like any of them, then why the hell are you in here? LOL

Pretty much. I am happy to see more than 1 spartan, a new engine, and hopefully some strategical gameplay in the Haloverse.

There was something disappointing about the design of this game for me. I guess I never really wanted to see what's underneath those helmets, and I'm a bit shocked that they have rotary wing aircraft. Are they early versions of the pelicans? Unfortunately, I'm not well versed enough in the story of Halo to know what's going on in that video.

I'm not sure, but I think most of the UNSC vehicles are powered by conventional propulsion systems. The Hornet seems to use some type of fanjet engines. Not sure what the Pelican uses, as it can fly in both an atmosphere and space - probably chemical propulson? Given that Reach was a pretty substantial military base, it's likely they had a lot of conventional aircraft for traveling around the planet. They probably wouldn't always need aircraft that could go into space, unlike the aircraft on a cruiser like the Pillar of Autumn.

I'll admit that what I saw in the trailer wasn't what I was expecting, but the more I think about it, the more I realize it's probably good to deviate a bit from the previous Halo formula - so long as the keep the combat the same.

Depends how you define "same". As it stands they have already sold Halo 3 MP twice, just in case any missed out ;)

We should wait and see how the engine will be used. The technology seems to be there.. It doesn't have so much WOW factor to me, but offcourse if it will be used to move battle with a scale still unknown today, which seems to be the case (last part of the video)..

To me, the color tone looks like BF: Bad company.. and a bit also Gears of Wars 2.
Not much Halo-like.

All looked good & shows huge leaps from Halo 3/ODST [donno about the lighting engine though]...except for the skybox, that was just too unreal & insanely detailed. Maybe its like Cutscenes in RE5 which are leaps & bound improved over Gameplay ?

On top of the super strong AA, those shadows appeared to have really high filtering , no pixelation at all which is kinda fishy too. I wonder if they've found a way to keep the HDR while retaining a native 720p buffer.

Im very impressed with the graphics and I loved the skullface on that guys armor..Looked pretty slick. Also, I read that Bungie is implementing customizable armor along with customized downloadable armor too.If the latter is true then that could be an innovative feature for fps games... The face modelling looks to be significantly improved over Halo 3 as well..Can't wait to see more of Reach when its "media blitz" happens next month..

Honestly, it looks too good to be true, but it is.

The trailer was boring but the graphical goodness and epic scale gave me wonderful goosebumps of joy..The face modelling destroys Halo 3's by a good country mile. The lighting looks to be more detailed too and the sky looked insanely detailed. If the game retains the same graphical detail while playing then this game could be the best looking console game of this generation.Damn you Bungie for getting us more excited for the game.. :D:D

I expect the game to look mostly the same, save for the humungous amounts of AA. The animations and models look all very much improved. Certainly a step in the right direction.
