Google Chrome goes SLOW?

defragment hdd? delete all cache?

I'm having the opposite problem - my FF become painfully slow, uninstall/reinstall did not help- it just keeps keeping my HDD busy hence the slowdown. Win7 here
It makes something with FF profile (saw it via taskmgr's resource manager).... if I give it 30 mins it starts "working" just fine , go figure :S

I just removed Google (everything) from all my machines and put firewall blocks on my corporate firewalls. To hell with them if they want Internet = cable TV. I'm done with google.

I've been using Opera, it's a better Chrome than Chrome for me. similar speed and footprint but I like the UI better.
