GDC : SCEI Booth. We got tools too...

God this is getting stupid .

Yes the water looks nice. Better than some of what i've seen in dreamcast games. Dreamcast tech demos is anotehr story .

The world of death jr is far less detailed than those of the dreamcast games .

But it is far more detailed than a n64 game .

Could it one day look better than a dreamcast game. Well mabye. But then again its not rendering the game at 640x480 and it may end up having much more dev time than the dreamcast did .

Compare to PSP...

Damn, I wish the ds had graphics that good, super hi res and filtered.
Even the gamecube port of ocarina of time was no where close to that, though it's like the only gamecube game I can play on my little lcd screen without blur.

BTW, doesn't the DC only have 16 MB in total, 8 MB video and 8 MB main? And doesn't that PSP have 12MB in total of e-dram?

the intersting thing is DC was at first to be only with 8MB of main RAM and they bumped it at the last minute before unveiling, considering they would need more RAM for the power. PSP will be faced to the same choice.

As I said before, it looks like it's been run through an emulator with AA and stuff on it.

that pic looks like it came off the gc which doesn't add aa to it . But does use better filtering .

I'm pretty sure that the n64 did edge aa to begin with . It was just a blurry mess

That pic is 1024x768 in size and didn't come from any console, GC, N64 or otherwise. It's also got fairly blatant AA.

Lets not lend out any more false credibility...

Heh the pic shows the same clarity as the gamecube collectors edition that nintendo power was giving out . Mabye it is a higher res . I can't tell the res by looking at a screen shot

I have both disks with zelda 64 on them, they look the same and aren't far removed from the n64 version. They may have added proper bilinear filtering, but I'm not even sure about that, it may just be the removal of edge AA that makes the game a bit sharper.

Anyhow, it is pretty obvious the pic is not 640x480, as any res under 1280x960 you probably can't even fit the entire picture on your screen assuming you're using the default IE layout. You could also right click on it and hit properties, it says 1024x768.
