Okay, since GDC is nigh upon us and since numerous PR will be released in these coming days, let us start a common thread for all the small talks, which are hardly new thread worthy, concerning the event.

Okay, I'll try to update the main post with all the info concerning the GDC.

I'd just like to point out that Eurogamer will be live blogging throughout the week. 1up's Shane and Luke are as well. I'm not sure about IGN and Gamespot, but I'm sure they have something planned as well.

As for announcements, the 1st ones seem to be already coming in. Hardknock's thread should have the details on the 360 512mb memory cards and Increased XBLA Game Sizes.

Apparently MS are running an XNA example, with developers creating four games in four days. They're also starting a competition to develop an XNA game; the prize being release on Live! and $10,000.

Questions:-

Who retains the rights to your game?

Do you recieve the $10,000 as a lump sum imbursement or is this in addition to possible royalties from sales of your game over XBLA?

By what criteria are the games judged..? production quality..? complexity...? originality..? innovativeness..?
 
I think part of the first prize is that you also get a publishing contract with them for the game. So no doubt you'd get a cut of revenue, but how much that is, or other terms..isn't disclosed, I don't think.

Dunno. Read this story and follow the link to dig up what info you can. I found criteria. I think details might require you to be registered. I also noticed that a subscription to the Creators Club is needed to to create XB360 games, but no purchase is necessary...

CVG sourced that from GameDrift.com, GameDrift.com sourced it to ps3fanboy.com, and ps3fanboy.com sourced it to the same neoseeker thread mentioned in Titanio's PS Home thread. Seems like wishful thinking, and theres simply no source to back up that supposed "leaked list".

Unfortunately, a lot of people are probably going to be disappointed when that list doesn't come true. It seems to have spread everywhere.
 
I think for sure that list is BS. I'm amazed (or should I be?) that CVG would reprint it without even trying to verify it themselves. CVG is a Future publication, it should be well-connected enough no to need to be posting stories like that.

Weren't those already "reported" earlier elsewhere, I think I've read about that rumour here in these forums too some days ago...

Yeah, it's an old rumour that's circulating, and CVG has this inane habit of reporting lots of fake or tenuous news stories. It was inevitable that they would report this... they have a reputation after all.
