Well, in fairness to MGS:TS, Im just as excited for it as MGS3 if not moreso. I loved the first on psx. I'm just not sure it will do much, if anything, for GCN sales-wise.

I agree... it sound like anothe rresident evil remake for them. It will sell some decent numbers but will be over shadowed by newer games like MGS3

Me too. Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to MGS:TS, especially since the remake is done by Silicon Knights. But I don't think it will move units in a larger scale...

Concerning MGS:TSS and MGS3, its a good thing they are being released 6 months apart (in the US anyways). I think people who enjoyed MGS1 from its release in 1998 may like to go through the experience again. There are people out there that did not enjoy MGS2 but have fond memories of MGS1. I do not think it will bring in any converts, but its at least nice that Konami gave GameCube something (besides Disney Sports titles), even if it took SK and Nintendo to make it possible.

The problem with RE is that the franchise appeard on PS1, Saturn, GBC, PC, N64, DC, PS2 and then GC. 25 published titles across 8 platforms since 1996. That franchise has been beaten to death and to attempt to start over new on GC and expect a huge response was kind of ridiculous.

Wow a4164, posted at the same time :) I do think RE4 is going to sell A LOT, even concerning the franchise's age. Just take a look at it and you'll know what I mean...

;) hehe

Yeah, RE4 may be the shot in the arm that the franchise needs. It looks amazing, if the gameplay keeps up, it will be something great. Plus the return of Leon S. Kennedy...swoon

RE4 definately needs some kind of new mechanics.. especially if they are going to FINALLY revamp the controls. Hopefully they are spending as much time on that as the gorgeous graphics.

Yea, I don't see MGS:TS doing anything for Nintendo, I played the first and Enjoyed it, who is seriously going to salivate over it with MGS3 coming out on PS2?

Go to IGN forum for MGS and you will see many PS2 owners salivating over it, posting how their gonna be puchasing a GC when it comes out.

At $99, and a free Zelda game..it will continue to sell big-time.

Unless, Sony and Microsoft drop their prices to $129.

Both TTS & RE:4 will be two of Nintendo's biggest sellers next year, in all 3 territories. (their franchise appeal is that strong) And yes, they will both push system sales. Even MK:DD pushed Cube sales up to 20k recently in Japan. I would've sworn that title would sell directly to the die-hard, or previous system owners. (186,000 copies in 3 days)
