For those that might not know, you can access the Epic store through a mobile browser. It means that no matter where you are over the holidays, you can still get more free games you'll never play. ;-)
Loop Hero is today’s Epic freebie! That’s a surprisingly recent release with a ton of good press.
Supposedly the whole list has been leaked, and it looks great. Rumor is:

It's a really good game. There's a surprising number of people that I know that felt it was their 2021 GOTY. And many of those people are people that don't play many indie games.

I’m secretly hoping it is, but the new one makes sense as they can upsell you to the Mooncrash DLC.

Seems to be it's on the list it's just the list didnt have "road to eden" in the title name.

GOG Galaxy just let me claim "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream". Based on the Harlan Ellison story, and he had a part in the game's development, especially when they were casting for the voice actor to play an egomaniacal AI, lol. 
I played it many years ago (IIRC it played better on my Compaq Presario when instead of using Windows 95 I played in DOS Mode), and then again later on a much newer PC. I wish I still had the mouspad that was bundled with the game, it was Ace.
Ah, I just checked, you can get it at GOG, though you'll need to have an account with them, which is free. 564 MB, and no word if the German version is still broken, for reasons that are a tiny bit spoilerish, but which you now probably can imagine.

The leaked list that I quoted had question marks for Second Whatever and Humankind and we still ended up getting one of them, so not bad. The latest on the leak is this:
So it looks like Humankind won't happen, as it's not new to EGS. Five "new to EGS" freebies should spice up the free-game grind.
(Edit: It may have been moved to the 29th, if you can believe everything you hear second-hand on the internet. It wouldn't be "new to EGS," unless that means a non-repeat freebie as opposed to a game new to the store.)
Just to wrap up digi's Google Stadia convo, you can get Stadia Premiere (Chromecast Ultra + controller) for $22.22 with free shipping from the Google Store. Not a bad deal if you pair it with a free trial of Stadia Pro. They sometimes have three-month trials, or I think you can get an extra month if you use a referral from another Stadia user (ask digi or me if you can't wait for the next multi-month trial, I guess).
