Forza 4

What exactly is Rivals mode? Is it an actual head to head race, or is it more of a leaderboard system like in Trials HD?

The latter.

Basically there's a bunch of set races (number of laps, car, etc). You're given a time to beat which is typically the next person above you on the scoreboard (or the next fastest in your club if you're in one).

When you enter the race you're racing against that person's ghost and you get a bounty prize of credits for beating their time.

I assume you're in Redmond?

I'd be down for snagging a conference room and doing a little hot seat racing some time. I've got a wheel (snagged it not long after F3 release, basically right before they stopped making them). I couldn't imagine going back to a controller.

OT: Should I be ashamed to admit that I absolutely loved Kinectimals and 1000GS'd it in the first week?

While you're at it maybe you could make a wireless wheel AC adapter miraculously appear. My friend lost mine after lending him my wheel... I need the force feedback!

You should not be ashamed to admit Kinectimals love, though, I must admit I got a little bored with it early on maybe I didn't put enough time in. But you SHOULD be ashamed if you are not playing the newly acquired family member, Gunstringer.

me:
Rivals: 0 hours
Career: 0 hours
Wife: A figment of my imagination who would let me play it as much as I want, in my mansion and on a pile of money, if I actually owned the game.

I believe you can join and leave Clubs at will--less the club leader.

So, club name?

Beyond3D

Anything better? Anyone opposed to a handful of racers from GS tagging along? They seem clubless but my experience with them in Forza is they tend to be solid players. More fair racers=better imo.

If you had the game and were IN the club I would do it ASAP. You, Brit, and Zunderholz should be ashamed of yourselves. ASHAMED I tell you! We have everyone jumping in -- joker, Nav, Status, Timber, and you guys are holding out?

If the Warthog was drivable you would be soooo all over this :p

I have in fact already pimped Gunstringer in the Kinect thread. However it has taken a back seat to Forza 4 and AC:B. I fully intend to play more of it as I love the writing. Anything Twisted Pixel does gets my money.

So side note for anyone else on the thread that's spent any amount of time upgrading cars and has ended up with something that can't turn anymore...

I've found that the default settings for adjustable front anti-roll bars are way too stiff. If you're like me and tweaked out some little car with insane tires and roll bars and are getting frustrated when it spins off the track every time you slightly feather the gas... drop the front anti-roll bar stiffness by somewhere in the 25-33% range (you may want to drop the rear ARB stiffness a bit too so that the overall ratio doesn't change too much) and try again.

That tweak alone changed my Esprit from undriveable garbage to a destroyer of worlds.

Beyond3D sounds good. So does that mean you're starting it up?

Yeah, I got my game. It took a lot of whining, but I was up to the task (I have had a lot of practice :p )

:| This is why I hide in my little corner secretly racing against ghosts and why I'm fearful of clubbing. I read the paragraph multiple times, slower each time, only to still have the same "I have no clue what the hell was just said" look on my face.

I'll be joining the club in a few moments I'd imagine our GTs won't really be necessary to share since you can see them in the club but having cleared out a huge swath of friends slots feel free to add me.

Who is the most active Forza player? The first person I let in is Co-leader and can also allow invites.

Is anyone in the US, devoted Forza player/plans to be dedicated to FM4 (i.e. you have waited all year for this and love the game)? Someone with over a 35 level from FM3 would indicate you are a serious driver.

Not sure what the real benefit is of being in a car club, but thanks for the invite and I feel strangely proud to have joined ;)

You race the ghost of your nearest faster competitor on the global leaderboard.

If any friends are faster than you, they are selected as your oponent. I've been going back and forth with my brother since the 9th in the Zonda C in the demo. - Very addictive.

Also instructive, because you get to see the racing line of someone who's a little better than you.

Cheers
