first r420 review leak

if nvidia maneges to get the core to 475 or even 500 it will beat ati, i wonder if ati can up there core more than 525 it will be interesting to see what unfold next

In contrast to NVIDIA, ATI not only provided us with a referenceboard for benchmarking but they also invited us over to Toronto for a week to give us plenty of time to learn more about the new cards. NVIDIA SUCKS BIGTIME. ATi Forever!

With the x800 Pro and XT Premium Edition ATI has brought up a pair of impressive products. If there is something one could complain about is that the cards really do not have any new exciting features and that they basically still are R300 on crack. I don't necessarily think that the lack of PS3.0 will affect this generation though and the performance increase itself is enough to have any serious gamer wanting it. Any price-concious gamers should take a closer look at the Radeon x800 Pro which should perform excellent while be a lot more affordable. If you want a good card you should not buy a 6800 Ultra based video card. You will be dissapointed in the performance and the IQ.

and if the 6800U is priced in betewn the x800 pro and the xt the 6800U look to be a good buy for a top end card
 
You know, I keep thinking of going with the NV40 because nVidia most likely will have decent linux drivers, but I keep coming back to the powersupply and heat issue. I'm on a 300watt PS right now, and I don't think I'd want to push it with that thing.

At that, the X800 might overwelm this power little PS...

Just my opinion, after reading the Meristation review.
The 6800U is a better Gpu than i thought. If the Extreme version go to the 499 price point, then, i think they have a winner.

P.S. - Im not a nVidia fan_boy. I have a 9800 pro and im very happy with it.
 
yea the ps thing kind of sucks i have a antec 420 but ps are pretty cheap im some places si i guess is not to much of a big deal
