eight shader units for R520

NV30 launched in November. We had the R300 review in August and board partner reviews in Oct; ATI did a preview paper launch a month before their initial reviews as well.

Just a quick thought from my VERY limited knowledge on Graphic technology: Be Gentle

Im thinking that maybe 24 Pixel pipes and 8 Vertex would be a good starting point for speculation. With ATI moving to .09um and its use of Fast14 tech maybe this is time for Embedded Ram, Say 10mb or more? and around 600-750mhz core, GDDR 3 -GDDR 4 Ram? Dave mentioned that Fill rate not the main issue but bandwidth is (Sorry Dave paraphrasing). Could Embedded Ram help with bandwidth issues? ATI has 3DC, could there be an evolution of this or other compression techniques to maximize bandwidth?

I would like peoples input on Fast14 tech. Could this be an underestimated technology? From what I have read about Fast14 it has definate advantages. I thought I read somewhere that NV might of liscensed this tech as well?

if r520 is indeed 24 pipes(which i doubt), it WILL NOT be 650+ core, ud be lucky to break 600.
