EA closes down Maxis

    The studio who originally brought us all the Sims has been taken down.
    I guess the popularity of SimCity and The Sims wasn't enough to bring enough money from the awful SimCity 2013 and Sims 4.

    The Sims Studio (a forked team from the original Maxis that focused on making Sims DLC and eventually Sims 3) wasn't shutdown.

    I thought SimCity had been a commercial success though..
    Even EA must have recognized that the always-online-for-no-reason SimCity screwed the franchise to ashes and former SimCity fans just migrated to CitiesXL and others.
