Well that time is coming around again, time for some fun E3 speculation. Alos please vote on who you think will have the best E3 showing. I personally think it's going to be Microsoft this year. What do you think? I also have some interesting xbox related rumors that are floating around the net.

FIRST LET ME START OFF BY SAYING THAT I KNOW ALOT OF YOU WILL BE VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS INFORMATION AND I DONT BLAME YOU. I WOULD BE TOO. BUT EVERYTHING THAT I AM ABOUT TO TELL YOU IS 100% TRUE. SO JUST REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT AND JUST WAIT FOR E3 AND YOU WILL SEE THAT I AM TELLING THE TRUTH. I WORK FOR A CERTAIN COMPANY THAT HAS VERY CLOSE TIES TO MICROSOFT AND THE XBOX, AND I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO COME ACROSS ALOT OF COOL INFORMATION. SO HERE IS WHAT I KNOW SO FAR OF WHAT WILL BE AT E3.

HALO2 (PLAYABLE)

FABLE (PLAYABLE), I HAVE SEEN THIS GAME IN ACTION AND LET ME SAY THAT THE SCREENS DO NOT DO THIS GAME JUSTICE. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT IN MOTION TO APPRECIATE HOW GORGEOUS AND FLUID THIS GAME IS. AND CHECK THIS OUT! THE BIG M$ IS REALLY PUSHING BBB TO NOT ONLY RELEASE THIS GAME THIS YEAR, BUT TO RELEASE IT RIGHT ALONG SIDE OF ANOTHER BIG TITLE FOR MICROSOFT. THATS RIGHT, IM TALKING ABOUT HALO2.
M$ HAS OFFERED TO HELP IN ANY WAY IT CAN TO HELP MAKE THIS HAPPEN, AND FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD THERE IS A VERY VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN. AND OF COURSE THE DATE WOULD BE 11/15/03. SO EXPECT THIS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT E3. HOW HUGE IS THIS GOING TO BE, THE TWO BIGGEST GAMES COMING OUT FOR XBOX COMING ON THE SAME DAY.

HALF LIFE 2 (PLAYABLE) I HAVE ALSO BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE THIS GAME IN PLAYABLE FORM. APPARENTLY THIS GAME HAS BEEN IN DEVELOPMENT FOR A LONG TIME, AND IT SHOWS. ALL I AM GOING TO SAY IS THIS GAME WILL BLOW YOU AWAY. THIS IS MY EARLY CHOICE FOR GAME OF THE SHOW.

B.C. (VIDEO) AND IT WILL BE ANNOUNCED THAT THE RELEASE DATE WILL BE SOMETIME Q1 2004

THE PURCHASE OF VIVENDI GAME DIVISION WILL BE ANNOUNCED, IT IS A DONE DEAL.

THE PRICE DROP FOR XBOX WILL BE ANNOUNCED.
THE NEW PRICE WILL BE $149, NO BIG SUPRISE HERE.

THERE HAS ALSO BEEN SOME TALK OF A NEW BUNDLE DEAL FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON. NOT ONLY WILL YOU GET A GAME OF YOUR CHOICE BUT THEY ARE THINKING OF ADDING XBOX LIVE IN IT AS WELL. DONT EXPECT TO HEAR THIS AT E3, MAYBE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER.

I HAVE SEEN A COUPLE OF POSTS RECENTLY ABOUT A PLAYABLE DEMO OF HALO 2 THAT WOULD COME WITH BRUTE FORCE, BUT THAT IT WAS JUST BONUS MATERIAL WITH SOME HALO 2 CONTENT. THERE WAS ACTUALLY SOME TALK WITHIN MICROSOFT OF DOING THIS. BUT IT WOULDNT HAVE BEEN A SINGLE PLAYER DEMO, INSTEAD IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MULTIPLAYER LIVE DEMO.
M$ KNOWS THAT ALOT OF INTEREST HAS DIED DOWN FOR BRUTE FORCE SO THEY WERE GOING TO TRY TO PUMP SOME EXCITEMENT INTO IT. THEY ONLY WANTED TO DO THIS IF IT WOULDNT DELAY THE PROGRESS OF HALO 2. BUNGIE WASNT SURE IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT. LAST I HEARD IT WASNT GOING TO HAPPEN. BUT THRER IS STILL A SMALL CHANCE. LETS CROSS OUR FINGERS.

damn, Halo 2 sounds nice... still, I will have to go with PS2, since Jak & Daxter 2 is my most hyped up game. Gran Turismo 4 is also right up there, along with Zone of the Enders 2 and definately the new Final Fantasy X-2. Thinking back at PSX times, I'm really interested in seeing a new G-Police...

anyway, all I can say is, E3 - BRING IT ON!!!!

BTW; does anyone have a confirmed list on what exactly will be on showing for PS2?

I'm really expecting somewhat of a tie. PS2 will have all the sequels you can think of to games that everyone loves whereas Xbox will actually put out a bunch of games that for the most part will be extraordinarily innovative and new thus forcing the industry (read sony) to really try and keep up.

My own vote goes to the Xbox but I'm guessing the ochlocracy will follow the behemoth that is $ony. Not that I have any particular bias.

Will Carmack put Doom III on Xbox officially at E3 though? Unless of course it's already happened. I missed about 2 months of board time thanks to school this term and still seem to be slightly behind things.

Playstation2 will probably have the best showing, hopefully with a lot of online games. Xbox might suprise though. Nintendo? Hmmm. I doubt it, although again it's E3, so they might actually announce something... new *gasp*

Xbox by a hair over Sony. They'll match Sony's high impact releases with things like Halo 2, Fable, PGR 2, RSC 2, and so on, but they'll have more unknown gems than Sony IMO.

Just like MS fans will claim MS won, and Sony fans will claim Sony won. Which is fairly logical considering they obviously prefer the sort of games they produce.. that's why they're fans in the first place

Honest to God, man.. give the company some credit. They put out almost nothing but excellent games, yet they're the most bashed corporation around. (next to poor ol' MS anyway ) Gawd, and I just love how people claim that Nintendo fans buy/play/love certain games (like Earthbound) just because it says "Nintendo" on it. Heh, somebody would have to be pret-ty f'ing dense to do that.

Why do people root for the Big N? Uh, maybe because they honestly love the games. Not everything is a bandwagon..

That is a list from off the top of my head of what I´m expecting to see (and I´d say that´s more than enough to counter whatever MS and Nintendo have in store ).

Personally, I´m interested in any non-kiddy Nintendo product they have to show (none of this Mario spin offs or fluffy characters).

I think I give Nintendo plenty of credit. Unfortunately though (and I'm going to be frank) my gaming tastes have long since outgrown most of what they can offer me

Nintendo is definitely among the most consistent developers out there. I'd nevery deny them that

I think it will depend on your perspective who will win. Pretty much with E3 the 'winner' is almost always the one who exceeds the expectations for them by the largest margin. Therefore, whoever is the favorite to win the hype battle prior to E3 has the toughest shot, and the big underdog has the best chance.

For this year I'd say that Sony is the odds on favorite due to the amount of titles that they have. Hard to say which one of them will catch the crowd's or press's eyes, but there are a lot of titles that have a good chance.

For MS, everyone is going to be looking for Halo2 so hopefully they will have a few surprises up their sleeves. DooM3 may do them well by the online press, but console gamers really never have cared much for DooM. Hopefully Rare will have a few titles for them to pull out that haven't been announced yet. Of course, if Half-Life2 is announced as a XBox timed exclusive that has the potential to be huge for MS, they could force a lot of hardcore PC gamers to pick up a Box(though I would suggest they offer a KB/Mouse setup if they are going to do this ).

In terms of the mainstream and good deal of the online press, I think Nintendo is going to have a hard time this year. People are expecting to see MK, Pokemon, Pikmin2 and Mario128. They need to have something fairly big waiting in the wings if they want to impress very many people. Either a major third party exclusive or a new franchise for them is the only way I see them ending up with a lot of gushing press.

Based on what I expect to see, I have the lowest expectations from MS so I think they have a good chance of being best of show. We have already seen a decent amount on Halo3, and we know an awful lot about Doom3. If MS comes up with a couple of potential hits that we don't know about to me they would pretty much be assured of winning as I can't think of a single title that we know is coming for them that hasn't been hyped up already(H2, D3, Fable etc).
