A Japanese developer has won best console game as far back as I can remember, except for Rare in 1999.

Yes, but PC games have pretty much always won the main, *best of the show* award.

Another thing I noticed: If you look at only games and not hardware, Xbox has more nominations than PS2.

Hehe well, eyetoy is both hardware AND games, so even then, they are equal
