dual video cards

Hello,

I was thinking of getting dual GeForce 7600 GT video cards,
I will doing a lot of 2D graphics and 3D animation using Maya.
Wondering if the dual video cards will make a big difference
while doing 2D graphics and 3D graphics, compared to using one video card.
Wonder if the dual video cards will suck up a lot of power and electricity.
I will also be using dual monitors

Any help would be appreciated

Did you check out B3D's own preview of the 7600GT?

Here's a direct link to system power consumption with the 7600GT and 7600GT SLI.

Btw, for 2D, you probably won't notice a difference. (I would think)

As for Maya and SLI... I don't know if nvidia restricts SLI performance improvements (for workstation programs) to their quadro series..maybe someone more knowledgable here can comment on that.

Hello,
Concerned about using too much power.
Thinking about getting XFX GeForce 7900 GT(550MHz).
Does anyone know if this card uses up a lot of power
and how many watts I will need for my power source
to handle this card.

Thank you

A 7900GT at stock speed consumes about 65W. A good quality 300W power supply will be more than enough to run a system with such a card (I measured the consumption of my system, A64 X2 3800+ and a 7900GT, under heavy load the whole machine pulled 150W from the wall socket).
