On might guess Comdex (Nov 18-22) if NV30 and DX9 are still linked closely or not. I was just wondering if anyone has heard from (semi) imformed sources as to when is the big day?

I think that November is the only official date that Microsoft have stated. (Last time I saw DX-manager Philip Taylor say anything about the launch he said that they were expecting November).
As it stands now, NV30 and DirectX9 releases are aligned, meaning that they are supposed to come out togheter. Out of this duo, only the NV30 may come at a later date, but DX9 is set in stone.
My crystal ball tells me we will hear more on DX9 next month . Microsoft hasn't done a Meltdown in the US this year have they? Last year it was in July.... I know they had a DirectX Meltdown at the EGDC
