If I give you my 50GB of porn pics could you look over it and tell me which ones are bad?

There's a bunch of bad porn. Pretty much everything with ugly people and stuff with lame action. You know, where you expect that it starts happening, but it's boring till the end.

I have over 100 gigs myself, and I'd say half of it sucks.

Quite a few of the women involved in the porn industry, actually. And then there's the kids too. It's not exactly a wholesome business, if I may say so.

Then there's various sleazy magazines too with scantily clad women who adorn the pages of said magazines only because they're good-looking and have great bodies, thus reducing them to little more than objects meant to be jacked off to.

I don't endulge in porn myself, much because of the above reasons. And also because touching's so much more satisfying than just looking.

In modern (heterosexual) porn why is there such an interest in the back door? Normal sex is almost frowned upon! :?

I do, it's not about the content but the acting. Well, "acting". Many people there just aren't really good. I just hate to see sex where people don't even start sweating, it's so unrealistic. Or where it's visible that they don't really enjoy it.

It's voluntarily in the sence nobody tied them up and dragged them there, but it's not what they would have chosen to do with their life had they had a normal childhood. Etc.

What you say is very true. It is even truer of the prostitution business.
But in order to save the world, are you going to ask every person in the world to suddenly not have any sexual desires whatsoever? Do we all stop glancing at the very attractive young woman that walks past us on the street? (we shouldn't stare, but you know what I mean). If we don't have a girlfriend and we find the opposite sex in any way attractive, do we all suddenly cut off our c*cks and run off and join a monastery? As long as there is sexuality in the world, there will be a market for sex and there will be people who want to watch sex. It is perhaps the dark side of humanity, but it is the reality. Like many things in the world, it cannot be changed.

I find this really fascinating in way. Why do you consider prostitution or pornography in and of itself be considered a dark side of humanity? Certainly sex plays a very large role in our species (none of us would be here otherwise), but it's interesting how guilty people feel about it. I guess personally I would rate fanatacism, greed, jelousy, and apathy to rank quite a bit higher on humanities darker tendencies rather than our sexual desires. I think in a way, that people's association with it being something evil and dark twists it into something it is not, and causes much of the anguish we feel over it. I certainly remember the shame I felt as a teenager with regards to sex.

Pornography in a way is also rather interesting. By limiting it, you effectively are denying women the right to make a living using their bodies as they see fit. Yet many women find it dispicable and hate it as they feel it lower's the value of a women only to the way she looks. It goes deeper than just pornography though. A very attractive women who is dressed provocatively will attract more attention than a homely woman who is dressed conservatively. The attractive woman certainly has an advantage over the homely woman mainly because she is attractive, and is using it for her own gain. This in many ways is similar to the situation with porn. The women in porn use their bodies to their own advantage much as the scantily clad woman uses her body to her advantage. On the other hand, it's possible that an attractive woman who does not dress scantily receives more attention for the way she looks than for her other qualities and blames pornography (and to a less extent the women who dress provocatively) for this association. This leads us down a dangerous path. We have certain social norms in place that limits a woman's rights (like having sex or displaying nudity in public), but is it right to limit a woman's right to make a living using her body for sex? How is it different than a man who works in manual labor, who's primary hiring attribute is the quality of his physique? And certainly a more controversial question is should women be allowed to dress scantily if it gives them an advantage over other women?

I very rarely agree with guden on anything, but this is one area where we pretty much see the same way. Pornography is not good for society, it has not improved how people view women, it has not brough any benefit to those in the industry (other than financial).

There are several areas that it is quite detremental:
-It changes how the those who watch pornography view women as objects.
-The porn industry has moved from the seedy dark theaters to the mainstream. Now people aspire to be like the hooker in pretty women, a stripper, ...
-The explotation of women, use them while they are in their prime and then chuck them away.
